Win this and we will prob play finals, lose and you can forget it. We don't have what it takes to beat the Hawks, and we will beat Fremantle and Melbourne. Simple as that. 11.5 wins will give us a big shot.
If we have progressed at all as a club we should expect to win the game. Chris Knights and Jason Porplyzia out as well as Burton. Adelaide have been being poor football before landing a couple of recent wins.
We can expect to start about our usual minus 8-10 goals, goals we will hand Adelaide from our turnovers. If we can restrict this to a decent amount we will win the game.
I don't know about you guys but I believe the Adelaide game the first time around was our worst performance of the year. To be up and half time and then just completely capitulate under serious physical pressure was embarrassing-just like watching men against boys. I haven't forgotten it, I want redemption.
Richmond don't often win these games. Big games, with everything on the line...Time to stand up Tigers. Time to be counted. Time to play finals.
Before I get too excited....Disappointments I remember since I first started going to Richmond games in 1995
Early in the season...1996 Tigers v Sydney Chris Bond goal not allowed, Richo was called for shepparding when the ball was more than 5 metres away, They win by less than a kick costing us our finals spot. Need to beat North in round 22. Down by 2 at 3 quarter time, Roos kick 9 goals in the last quarter. We miss out.
1998
Richmond v Melbourne
Need a win or a loss by less than a goal to play finals. We lost. I think by 76.
2001
Richmond v Essendon round 7
We had only lost one game for the season. Built up as a blockbuster. Don't kick a goal until the second quarter. Game is over at quarter time.
2008
Tigers v St Kilda How did we lose that game? Still can't work it out. Gifting the opposition goals with about 50 million turnovers probably didn't help.
