Biggest let down in today game

Moose Maguire was giving young Jack plenty early and Jack was more than happy to stand up for himself. Think it was the second qtr when Bling was lining up from about 50 on the flank and Jack and Moose were giving each other plenty, might even have put Bling off his shot.
At 18 and still bloody skinny Jack still has a long way to go but I have no doubt he will make it.
He had one of those dirty days when everything he did stuffed up yesterday, but in watching a few of his games at Coburg and his senior games as the number four forward behind Richo,Browny and Petts. The thing that always stands out to me is his calmness, balance, timing and finesse in play.
He reads the incoming ball very well and doesn't seem to get caught in the crunch of packs, he often seems to float into the contest at just the right moment or be able to put a little body nudge in to get a virtually uncontested mark. The kid also rarely loses his feet so stays around the contest for second efforts.
Another couple of preseasons and thirty more games under his belt and he will be a quality player for us.

I would say that Jack himself was a let down.
I have seen nothing to think he is going to be a player.
I have great concern for him.

Yep, if you can't make it in your first season, you should be delisted!! ::)

Spot on b4p! What the hell do people expect from him. He's a KID in his first year. Some people really have no idea! >:(

Should the Roo's get rid of Hansen after one season?
Should the Don's get rid of Gumbleton after one season?

Neither of them have showed anything yet?
Hangon a minute, weren't these guys pick's 2 and 3 in the strongest draft all time last year? The same draft the Jack was pick 13 in?

Here's a great drafting strategy, draft talls and then delist them before they even play a dozen games. ::)

There was another Jack who played for Richmond a long time ago. Started at 18, and his first 12 games yielded 5 goals. He was four games shy of his 21st birthday before he kicked more than 2 goals in a match for the first time. This was Jack Titus, who kicked nearly 1000 goals and whose record of 11 Richmond goalkicking titles has only just been broken by Richo.

Absolutely nothing to worry about at this stage.

You could try giving him a chance. Sheesh, the guy has played a handful of senior games and voila...you've already written him off. Sad.
