Blair's Boys - 2012 Trade Week Targets

He's been a good player for a couple of years now. This year he's just exploded and become a top 10 player in the AFL. He deserves that money no doubt. I would offer him 600k for 4 years but it won't happen sadly.

Beam's has had a very good season, no doubt, but I reckon I would struggle to have him nudge out any of Cox, Hodge, Franklin, Goodes, Selwood, Ablett, Nick Riewoldt, Pendlebury, Swan, Pavlich, Judd, Murphy or Thompson. Even our own Deledio, Cotchin and Riewoldt could be judged ahead of Beams.

Half a season of good footy doesn't caterpault anyone into the leagues absolute elite.

If this is the kind of player Beams will be.....then only Cotch is ahead of him out of our own.

Doesn't matter. Has shown consistency playing elite footy this year and is in the top 10 in the AFL this year IMO.

Definitely worth a trade and $$$.

Unfortunately very unlikely that he will come over to us.

So yeah trade, but we don't have to be the club that always gives away picks
This is essentially what we have been doing over the last couple of years isn't it ? The 5 players we have brought in from other clubs have cost us pick 38, Collins, a PSD pick and 2 rookie picks.

It has been the very clear aim of the Club to get in players from other clubs and keep our place in the draft as well and I would expect us to try and do the same thing this year.

That last minute trade of compensation picks with the Suns last year at least meant that we've had dialogue and a result with them which could mean that they are more willing to deal with us in the future - of course you can't expect something of quality from them when we might not have much to offer.

With this draft being highly rated we won't want to be letting early picks go.

I still think we could use a player like Daniel Stewart (port)

If we could, we should be looking at Tom Lee from Claremont. Would cost stuff all, and has the ability to make it at AFL level.

Adleaide didn't make him a first round pick for nothing.

x2

The Crowbots used a first rounder on him? Which year, Streaker?

Steven is a good player. Would be a favourite of Hardwick's. What's the rumour?
There was a rumour from Greg Denham that we were into 2 Saints players, one was Gwilt who re-signed, and the other is JS.
