How's about this:
Delist: Derickx, Graham, White, Webberley, McGuane, Connors, McDonald, Miller, A.Maric, Wright
Newman veteran off the list.
Trade: Alex Rance for Jack Steven and Sam Blease (no idea how it would work)
Restricted Free Agent: Troy Chaplin
PSD: Jesse White (no idea about contract situation)
Use draft picks on midfielders and HFFs, use rookie picks on a ruckman, and midfielders.
Boom, September '13 rollin'.

Potential end of year trades i would look at:
Crowley (Hard bodied midfielder, hasnt signed a contract yet), Sam Blease (Real gamebreaker), Shannon Byrnes (free agent, good small forward), Brent Maloney (out of contract, hard bodied midfielder, would add some serious depth).

Would have been good to get Steven at the end of last year. His currency would have gone up a bit this year.

Piva Wright would be stiff too I think. We would have taken him on knowing he'd take more than 1 year. The rest I agree with though.
No chance of getting Steven or Blease. Melbourne supporters would revolt if the latter happened. Might be a chance to get Sylvia though. Pettard also seems out of favour, who I thought could play.
Jesse White will be got for steak knives. He's an athlete thats never progressed though. Kicked 5 goals against us once at the G and looked good. Never went on with it.

I'd bring in JW as a depth player, ruck and forward. Think of an upgraded Miller.tigs2010 said:

If we could pull a Barry Hall style trade for Rance, we could plug a big chunk of our midfield problem.
Sylvia is not a free agent which must mean he is contracted but if Melbourne were willing to trade for him and we could get the right deal I would do it. He would be a very good player for us surrounded by Lids, Cotch, Dusty and Foley.
Will Minson - Doggies offering a 1 year contract. Give him 2 years and let him help out Maric.

Minson is strictly a first ruck IMO, has no smarts at all around the ground. And nowhere near Maric as a first ruck. Would prefer Roughead from the bulldogs, has flexibility to relief ruck and play forward.
I am thinking of Minson as a cheap back up. Bash and crash type. But if we do go down that path we must make sure that we draft/trade in another developing ruckman.Big Cat Lover said:

Agree though. We need to trust Browne or recruit from the state leagues to solve the back up ruck problem. Vickery is also the big unknown here. If he gets back on track he's automatically next in line and a very good alternative.

Don't know too much of him but Cruise Gartlett always seems to be in the bests for the Roos 2nds.

Good point on Vickery, he shouldnt be forgotten in future ruck talks. Think thats where he ends up in a few years.
