Blair's Boys - 2012 Trade Week Targets

Good to see more people getting on the Jesse White train.
Big Jesse kicked 6 on the weekend playing 2nd Ruck/Forward behind Seaby after his 10th week as an emergency.
Yes, the NEAFL is a crap competition but IMO he is easily the best mobile big man (with several AFL traits) playing in an AFL clubs system who can't get a game due to depth in the seniors (nit injuries). Would have played most games for almost every other AFL club if he was on their list. Sydney are just stacked with talls and KPP's.

Imagine we had a guy like him on the weekend to go to Petrie instead of McGuane. He is no world beater but he fills a need we desperately have.

Tall, Massive, Gorilla who is mobile and can play backup Ruck as well as play as forward monster to help Jack or as a defensive monster in those few occasions like yesterday where the opposition have a unique 200cm KPP.

i like it...hope the tigers are seriously looking into getting him across to us

If Maric goes down next year, Vickery goes into Ruck and Jesse plays deep or if TY's shoulder is not up to it Jesse plays Ruck himself. Great ready made coverage for Maric and Ty that will cost very little, maybe only a pick around 40 or a trade one of our younger HBF who we have a few of and Sydney may be looking to get because of the aging Malceski, Shaw, Mattner etc.

i like this idea immensely..i hope the powers that be at tiger land are seriously looking at getting him over to os

Reckon that Blair will be scouring the league for another tall forward.

Speculating but I think that the 'big fish' they were contemplating last year was Mitch Clarke but the Dees beat us to the punch.

Would have been an excellent move in hindsight. Might have made all the difference to our fortunes this season.

Or you could have drafted him. Thanks Jon. ::)

It just goes to show how much one bad first round pick can set you back.

Let alone the entire draft!! 2005 JON, Hughes and Casserley. For a club that had made an artform of *smile* up drafts this was the piece d' resistance. Not one half decent player among the 3 of them.

Only Angus Graham left out of the whole lot. Shocking performance.

The biggest question mark for me over that draft was why we only had 3 picks.

Yep it's a risk certainly, it would all depend on what we could get for him, and what we could get to cover his loss. Hypothetically I think Jack Steven, Sam Blease with Troy Chaplin would be worth the risk. Fair enough if you do not.

It's a fair call and I certainly see where you are coming from. It would certainly fix the midfield but IMO Chaplin isn't as good as Rance. I'd rather have Chaplin helping Rance and then draft our midfielders. One with a bit of pace.

Caddy for pick 10 is a pretty good deal. Caddy has shown he is a likely 200 game player and has already done an apprenticeship

caddy will be at the bombers.

How?
They will need to trade something to get him and they will have to use there first pick for the Daniher boy. The Suns will push for something good from them if he wants to leave because there will be other potential suitors.

If we can't get Caddy, I would going to Essendon and seeing what we could get for our pick 10. If they desperately need it they may pay over the odds...

What is our biggest deficiency at the moment? For me it is a toss up between another hard bodied midfielder and a big defender.

3 goalkicking midfielders who have pace and can play inside and out and rotate through the middle and play forward.
1 key defender
1 developing ruckman

Shame we don't have three picks in the top 10 then. Seriously, how many inside/outside speedy goalkicking mids do you think a good team has? I agree more would be nice but saying we desperatley need 3 more is ridiculous.

Agree. Sounds like he wants to add Swan, Pendlebury & Ablett to our list.

From what I have seen of pearce and i know im gonna get shot down here..but get him down to tigerland. Brilliant link up player, would flourish on the G as an outside midfielder, can play that mop up quarterback role in the backline, is a good user, and people are gonna say his soft but he isnt actually soft unlike grigg. We need these experienced outside mids. He also is a free agent so we wouldnt have to give up anything.

Chris Knights from the Crows worth a look too.

25 yrs skilled goal kicking midfielder would add some polish to the middle.
