PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

James Hird sat down and looked shattered-he did not shake an opponent's hand until after the presentations were over.  Just like his disgraceful exhibition as a losing GF captain a few years ago, he showed that he is only about winning.

Michael Long couldn't help himself, despite his status on the night as an ambassador for indiginous causes.   He presented the best player award to Dean Polo by spitting out his name- he could not find anything nice to say at all.  I have great respect for his continuing achievements and the wonderful leadership he has shown over important issues but obviously sportsmanship and grace in adversity are not his strengths.

Had he been presenting it to one of his mates, I'm sure he would have spoken eloquently and at length.

No class.  The manner in which an individual conducts himself in adversity says a great deal about the type of person he is.  On what was otherwise a magnificent night, these two let themselves down.
