Talk of trading him is one thing, but consider what we've done with trading similar standard players in the past.
There is no way, at his age and with his often-questionable disposal/decision making, another club will offer anything other than their own dead wood.
That said, he is one of few on the list who has earned our respect over several seasons and deserves the opportunity to rediscover his best form.
He can play at this level. Simple as that. How many others can we say that of?

Good first post, totally agree. He's 30 now, there's no point trading him at that age, you'll get nothing for him. All I want at the moment is for Joel to play up the ground. For christ's sake, we've won one game and we've still got the same back 6 for the last 10 weeks. Terry, can you make a change please. You know a bit of variety, we're going to lose every game left anyway.

let the backline develop without bowden of polak, thursty & *smile*
richo and bowden should play on the wing and run a round all day like they do
the rest of the spots should be played by kids

let the kids learn their spots the way terry wants, make them accountable
(ie) no loose men in the back half and they learn to beat their man and help their fellow players out
all the fwds lead and all chase, tackle and apply pressue when the ball is turned over in the fwd line the more options the better, and the best person in the best position gets it
richo and bowden - too good to be dropped but are not part of our next premiership - so let them play out their careers doing what they do best - running around without worrying about an opponent
