Bowden To Retire - TFS

For the good of the club and to give himself and his supporters the best chance to say goodbye in a respectful manner Joel should announce his retirement just before Rd 21, get a farewell game that week and then retire. The club have made it painfully obvious that he has no future there and there's little point in him trying to vainly continue, you'd hate to see him get delisted and then go through the indignity of being passed over in the draft. Although I liked Joel as a player I always felt there was unrealised potential and that if he'd worked harder when he was younger he would have been a great player rather than just a good one.

Great club servant but the time has come

just about sums it up... although i would add that he never really reached his full potential. JB had the talent to be elite.

It certainly will be a different team when he does go. A real changing of the guard with Richo being the only other player linking the current team to the previous era at the club

this is why all the old farts should go, including richo. next year is the start of a new era.

While I wasn't always a huge Bowden fan, he has always impressed with his intelligence off the field

can't help but laugh at that comment because he made a lot of dumb decisions on the field.

In another life if Darren Milburn had been at RFC and Joel Bowden had ended up at GFC, Bowden would have a premiership medal and Milburn would be playing at Coburg.

Both basically play the same footy, both float around the backline getting cheap kicks setting up play

i would argue JB has a lot more natural talent

& a little grace and respect towards someone who has given nothing but loyal service to our club would go along way too.

Regardless of what you think of him as a player, heis a loyal Richmond person and deserves better than a spray from a never will be.

Particularly one not man enough to sign up for a membership.
lol what spray just the truth. and unlike the demented feral sheep that pass themselves of as supporters i dont need to run with the herd.

JB should, and I hope he does, play one more year.

Idiots like Claw the Bore "don't rate him as a player" because of the way he plays his footy. ie. type of player blessed with silky skills and a footy brain that sometimes makes him look like he's disinterested or not really trying.

Unfortunately his chances of playing next year dont look good since its looking more likely each day that we will be stuck with Rawlings as senior coach .

That's to be admired but the good points in your posts often get obscured by your extremism. You're becoming a caricature of your own internet persona, if that's possible.

Its a flock of (demented feral) sheep, not a herd.
You're losing your credibility mate, if you can't even get that right. :hihi

lol You are surely kidding yes?

Why don't you head off back to the Kayne Pettifer thread and continue celebrating his injury?

You would of course be referring to those of us who make the effort to sign up for a club membership?
