Braun's swan song? I'll raise the Weagles a Tiger debut.

please don't tell me Cartledge is sniffing a game...anyone that could not get a spot over Scott Laycock does not seem like a real shining light!

I'd say this TANK theory is looking a far sight more like the end of an era.

No Judd, No Cousins and now no Braun with Fletcher & possibly Kerr & others to follow.

Doesn't look like some grand plan to shoot back up the ladder in a hurry to me, this is a team that is a shadow of it's former great self.

They will struggle for a while.

what sruggle for 26 years.

No Bell was far better than Fletcher too who's really never been more than a 4th or 5th string midfielder but the exodus of depth will have an effect.

again agree. hes been a very underrated player but injury and father time have caught up to him the last few yrs.
his retirement at this stage can only help the TANK continue. ;)

Struggled badly this year, knee's have been shot for years, done well to last this far, West Coast GF loss in 05 was partly due to him missing his only game for the year, leading player of the clearances at West Coast leading up to the GF, overshadowed a bit by Bell's announcement today, but just as effective, well done Brauny!
Do you agree with Talons use of capitals? :cutelaugh

This reminds me of Claw's famous "Essendon will finish higher than Richmond" prediction of 2006! Go for it Tooheys.

Clawsy will spin the result to his favour whatever the result of the bet adam ant. ;)
If W.C. do actually finish higher than Richmond in '09 he'll say I told you so and if they finish lowly again he'll say they are tanking for draft picks. ;D

Personally I am surprised he offered up the bet, as I think our youngsters have shown plenty more upside this season than what the Weagles have and we have more scope for improvement in the short term at least(next season) particularly with some likely further exits ot key W.C personel at years end.

Time will tell I guess but it will keep some interest for next season.

Rance.

He may not be ready just yet but it is his home crowd and why not, he may be a bit raw, but he has been having a crack and a taste might just be good for him.

I'd go with that. The Eagles non-descript forward line would give Rance a good opportunity for a solid debut.
