Richmond have done very well out of the deal.

But that doesn't change what a wonderful player he was for us doing tough, tough times.

Felt gutted for him given what he gave to us.

There's always the heart break stories this time of year, but they are often the stories that deliver joy to someone else. I hope its our turn to experience the joy, it's time

True. But in reality I doubt we would be where we are if he had not left. We wouldn't have got Prestia or Caddy to the club and would have had Lids sitting out for 3/4 of the season and not playing at his best when he does.

This is the real question.
It was like you could never have been sure the Bulldogs would have won last year if Bob Murphy had played.
But you could be reasonably sure that there is no way would be where we are now if Deledio had stayed, as hard as it is to consider.

Delidio was a true champion for us but sadly cruelled by leg injuries he is now only a shell of his former self and probably gone on a season too long. His moving on however was instrumental in getting Caddy at Tigerland and he has been invaluable to us

Doubt he'd be feeling sorry for us if he won, it was never a secret how much he hated us "fans" .

I wont be shedding a tear for brett deledio , made lots of money from this club and delivered nothing in return.

Bryan Wood did ok at Essendon, although he much a much better player in the Yellow and Black.
Whale Roberts did pretty well in his brief time at South Melbourne. (Did Roberts come runner-up to Teasedale in that year's Brownlow count?)
And Teasedale's career, while not a stellar one, did include that Brownlow.
Franics Jackson may have his critics as a recruiter for RFC, but his time at South/Sydney was notable. One of the premier backmen in his time.
David Cloke did have a good career at Collingwood, but eventually saw the errors of his ways and returned to RFC to see out his playing days.
Rex Hunt (in the swap for Gareth Andrews) had a stellar career at Geelong.
Then, I couldn't believe that Geoff Raines would wear anything other than the Yellow and Black for his career.
Jason Torney was a long-time and good player for the Crows.
Losing Stuart Maxfield to Sydney was a big one for RFC.
Brian Taylor, sensing limited opportunities and having been dropped for the 1982 GF, hightailed his way to Collingwood where he did very well ... kicked 100+ goals on at least one occasion.
Then there is, of course, the biggest trade deal of them all where Richmond lost the services of Ty 'Important to Our Structures' Vickery to Hawthorn.
David Rodan also did OK at Port for several years, certainly produced more than he did while at Tigerland.
Memories .....

Brian Roberts only played one year at South - 1975, and came sixth in the Brownlow - equal with one P.Carman.
Teasdale won it in 1977.

Are you serious about Rex Hunt?
He was more successful at his third club, St.Kilda. At the very least he was there longer (than he was at Geelong).

Not saying Rex was great at geelong but he was their vice captain in 1975.
