Brett Deledio: pencil it in

Has he been sick or what?
Has lacked spark over the past two weeks. Uncharacteristically flat and seemingly just going around.
He seemed to look at the umpire a lot and ask for a free or a 50, is this a new thing? Can't say I've seen him do before, he doesn't need to do it, I hate it when opposition do it!

Give it a rest had some very physical treatment vs WC took 5 or 6 superb marks and the general standard throughout the game was very average. Wasn't his best game sure wasn't a shocker either. So he must wanna leave then right!?

Great game Lids. My worry is that GC17 will now target him even harder..... Don't do an Ottens Lids!!!

People expect bloody miracles from him week after week.

Give him a break.

His game this week was very good IMO!

With Cotchin back in & if Tambling can continue his form these 2 factors will help him as the opposition will have to watch more than just him.

Lids in our best players on RFC website, so his game must have been rated by those that know what his role was on the night.

Interesting. I sure didn't see it but perhaps he was given a particular role?
Maybe the only one who followed instructions to tank?

I reckon if we're questioning whether he had a good game when he picked up 23 possessions, 11 marks, 3 tackles and a goal, it shows how much he's come on as a player. Pretty good stats if you ask me.

Stats schmats. Many of his disposals were ordinary the other night. Most unDeledio like.

Fair enough, disposal efficiency was 61% which indicates you're right. Still, he had a much better game than the shocker he put in the week before.

I just like the fact that he was left to hang in the guts by Jade the blade. His disposal efficiency reflects he was in the centre under the right anount of pressure.

Get used to it son, no bs spells in the back pocket or ff because the tag is feeling a little close.

Agree, I nearly fell off my chair to see him start there.

Has Deledio's kicking for goal gone off? Kicked 39 goals 20 behinds in two previous seasons and 9 goals 8 this season and has missed a couple that he would have eaten alive in the past. One thing I've noticed in his run up for set shots lately is he veers quite a bit to the right and then hooks it back a little. Anyone else notice this?

Love him as a player. Doing amazingly well for a 22yo with all the focus that is placed on him by the opposition.

Noticed that he runs out to the right towards the end of his run up,hence alot of his shots hooking accross the goals

Efficiency was poor and no running the lines either. he got towelled against the Bullies and, as Wallet has done every time got shifted all over the ground to try and expose or break the tag.
Perhaps Rawlings has just opted to leave Lids in the guts to make him work through the situation. Be interesting to see what Lids comes up with over the next few weeks.
Midfield / onball tactics against the Saints will be fun. Bling, Cuz, Jacko, Axl, Cotch and Lids all capable of providing run and carry to keep the Saints mids honest.
