Reading today's article inthe HUN, it is clearly obvious that what the club is lacking at the moment is real Richmond people from the past that understand what wearing the Yellow and Black means.

Northey, Hafey, Hart, Jewell to name a few are feeling the pain that the Supporters are feeling......unlike the 'non-Richmond' people that are running the club at the moment. These guys are more interested in their pay packets rather than the success of the club.

Look at Frawley - laughing his head off at the club now....if we don't act soon, Wallace and Miller will be doing the same in 5 years time when they are no longer there.

We need Richmond people that understand what the club stands for and know where we belong.....

Time to stop looking back to the past and start looking towards the future.

All of the Tiger greats of the past have had their chances.

Northey, Hafey, Hart & Jewell have all had their opportunities and gone.

What's more, it's been 25 years or more since their days of greatness.

When the Tiges embrace the future, rather than the past, that's when we'll kick goals.

Spot on IMHO. These players need to make their own future.

Have tried to embrace the future for over 10 years now and it aint working......Any decent coach would've walked after a 157 point drubing, but Wallet is looking just after that....his wallet!!!!

Following Frawley era, Wallace dictated terms on his contract and has become the most unaccountable coach in Richmond's history........keeps talking about the graph heading in the right direction....has anyone seen 'THE GRAPH'..... because being 0-6 and having lost 4 games in the last year and a bit by over 100 points does not look to me as we are headed in the right direction!!!!!!!!!

Disagree Phanto, we need to bring lace up jumpers back as well as getting Tetley back on board as out major sponsor. Whilst we're at it let's get the boys back into wide collared body shirts and flared trousers to wear on match day!!! The sooner we all start wearing duffle coats and beanies with the pom poms stupidly placed on the top again the sooner we'll start achieving true success.

FFS, there has been some complete crap written over the past couple of days here and in the media in general. The weekends result was shocking but to call for Mal Brown or Tommy Hafey to come back? No wonder we are laughed at and pitied throughout the football community. The only way to attempt a real resurgence is to bring ourselves into the modern age and leave the past behind. We've lived in the past for far too long and it's cost us dearly. By all means respect and reflect on the deeds of the past but I hope the club continues to push towards building the structure based on modern techniques as well as keeping the basic principles of footy in place.

I don't profess to know a lot about the specifics of the game but I do know that we've tried the old way and it hasn't worked.

Surely its a balance thing.

I agree we need to go forward,

But something needs to be done to show some of these players what it means to be a Tiger.

Maybe the Player Mentors need more involvement with their charges. ( i however do say that not knowing exactly all they do).

But past players of this club who bled Yellow and Black do have a place IMO.

Instead of worrying about getting past Richmond people back we need to start creating Richmond people for the present and the future. We need the people there to be passionate about the club and its future while they are there and pass that passion onto as many other people as possible.

Roos at Sydney and Matthews at Brisbane had no prior history with those clubs, nor Sheedy at Essendon for that matter. Narrowing the field based on former allegiances isn't sensible these days.

TW has been paid to make changes and he is making them. Advance him some credit and judge him at the end of the five years. To borrow a racing expression, he's forgotten more about football than most at PRE will have learned.

In 1985 the ex-players took over the RFC in a revolution.

Within 12 months it was broke & saved only by a few of non-player benefactors.

I think we're in danger of breaking another RFC record - straw clutching, which holds equal position with finger pointing, and is followed closely by breast beating and smearing oneself in ashes whilst wearing sackcloth.

agreed. don't forget our coaching history (Bourke - Raines, Wood, Cloke all left because of his lack of coaching abilities, etc), Bartlett (no much better). TW is the right person, going forward will be our biggest challenge in terms of performance, as our finance and club stabilities are in better shape than before and continues to improve.

Couldn't agree with you more,.
It's time to appreciate the past but also create our own True Blooded Tigers and history to boot.
