Maybe we should lobby for the return of the Mid-Season Draft. The afl seem to be able to change things at a whim.

Make it mandatory to delist a minimum of 5 players. That might shake a few up that are too comfortable.
Also make it mandatory that contracts can only be for a maximum of 2 years.
 
Good draft idea willo...just as long as we can change the rules back when we get our list ship shape so we get to keep our players. I'm a fan of the 2 year contract. Make them work hard to keep their spot rather than settle back in cruise control.
 
Maybe we should just be disciplined enough not to give them 3 or more.

A famous man said everyone makes choices. We (the RFC) accept mediocrity when we don't make our players accountable every week of every year.
 
This assumes the players actually want to play for Richmond.

If the AFL introduced a mid-year draft right now for 2009, how do you think the likes of Deledio and Cotchin would play between now and that draft?
