Bring on Carlton!!!!

Two losses in four games - last years premiers and this years NAB cup winners - I think we have a good chance against Carlton - maybe its only my heart speaking though, but I will go to the game in high spirits, we can't be so negative for the first round.
Carlton aren't a better side than us. Their backline is weak, and Fev is a liability that could explode at the drop of a hat. Their mid-field, with the exception of Stevens and Judd are young and inexperienced. Tigers by 40 points.

meanwhile carlton beat port and the doggoes and lost to hawthorn.

not sure about their fourth game

Their fourth game was a lose to West Coast

how have carlton been going in their nab cup/challenge campaign?

anyone help?

i hope they've done well and are favourites to beat us.

Played Port in the heat over in SA and were patchy. Port had a fairly weak side in. Hawthorn smashed them the follwoing week when it counted early on. Trying to play more possession football and look for handball recieves and the new 20m rule in the NAB caught them out a lot. Settled after that and were okay but ball use still a mjor problem.

Sent a skeleton team to Alice Springs th following week to play WC and just played kids as the senior players stayed in Melbourne. WC were to strong.

Were okay from all reports against the Dogs for the hyped up Judd return. Neither team would be unhappy with how they played. BUT the Blues look like they have paid a pretty heavy tool with injuries.

Fisher was injured earlier in the pre season and wont play round 1. Andrew Walker hurt his shoulder in the first quater against the Dogs and will be out for 3 months. Hampson (most likely their starting ruck) hurt his knee in the game and came off at half time and did not return. He will also miss round 1 and possible round 2.

Murphy was reported as well in the game. May or may not go. Touch and go for round 1.

Stevens had a few mishaps after playing in the NAB. Got an infected knee and some swelling and then some stiffness from weight training in his neck. He and Judd will play round 1.

Thats about the state of things. Looks like 3 out and maybe Murphy for round 1.

Just based on the one game we played last year Cameron Coke is a world beater as long as he is playing Richmond, so the ruck injuries might not hurt as much as it would against other teams.

I know it's unlikely, but given the Blues injury woes it would be good to see the no.1 draft pick playing as a ruck from the start. I am exciting about seeing Kreuzer adjust to the big time and don't hate him yet because mentally he is still a Northern Night and not a Blue for me.

Well Simmonds did not play so that made it a lot easier for Cloke who did happen to have a good game that day. Stevens was the difference really that day.

I expect Kreuzer to play. I think they will keep him out of the centre square bounces and use him around the ground and at the boundary throw ins and as a tall forward. Cloke to take the centre bounce as often as possible. Setanta wont play I dont believe as he has been ill and is not quite right for round 1 in the AFL.

Sentanta did a good job on Richo last year. If he is out, who do you think will play on Richo? Thornton?

Thats a big problem for the Blues right there!

we need to stop fevola,he`s the key IMO.
judd will have a good game no matter what,i say put jacko on him,at least he makes his opponent earn their kicks and always gets under their skin.
i can`t remember the last time the oppossition didn`t have jacko by the scruff of his jumper remonstrating with him in a game.
they can`t handle his close checking and tough play.
it was scarlett on friday night.

but fev is the man we need to stop.

i really hope the media keep up their gushing about judd and carlton and their bagging of richmond leading up to this game.
remember they have lost their past 12 games and finished 15th and they won`t have the extra match fitness as they did round 1 last year.
it should be a close game.

Setanta has had a virus and lost a fair bit of weight and then some niggle injuries on top and is just not the same physical specimen as last year and needs some time to reach peak fitness and put on te 6kgs he has lost.

They may go with Michael Jamison or opt for Waite. Thornton will struggle to compete 1 on 1 with him and is better at half back. It will come down to supply and the quality of it for Fevola and Richo.

fisher, hampson, walker, setanta and possibly murphy out also, judd & stevens both not 100% we couldnt of asked for better luck

we will win

no excuses

:rotfl

Setanta more often than not looks lost playing AFL and Hampson is young and yet to break into the regular side.

Yeah I'll be hanging on the edge of my seat hoping they won't be playing come Round 1. :bs
