Was it a case of the Brown factor (apart from the Bulldogs) which helped destroy us on Friday night. Was there so much hype around Brownie returning that the players just thought a win was inevitable. With the dynamic duo back playing up forward 10 goals between them, a loss was out of the question. I just wonder what the mind set was!

I doubt it, but you never know. Ten NG Browns wouldn't have made a difference to the inferno we faced on Friday night.

The Doggies were red hot. I don't think enough credit has been given to them for their preparation for rd 1.

Browny will be much better for the run. There were plenty of positive signs. Just needs to regain the match fitness.

Bulldogs finished off last season in a blaze of glory. Even with Richo and Browny on fire, I dont think anyone would have been silly enough to think this wasnt going to be a very tough match to win, least of all the players

Cheers

Cr@p. No excuses for what happened on Friday night. >:( >:( >:(

Agree Digs. It can't be attributed to such a minor thing (and if it is we are in more trouble than we think!).

We were just woeful all round

There was some Brown factor running down some players legs once the heat was applied unfortunately  :(

Our illustrious leader even confirmed as much :o

That is one main factor in our club's long term problems..................HYPE !!

Every year the club talks up as if we're still as good as 1967,69,73,74 and 80.

With all due respect, TF, if footy supporters can't get irrationally optimistic in the lead-up to a new season, then it removes a hell of a lot of the fun out of the whole thing.

The important thing is to be able to distinguish between serious analysis of a team's status or promise, and the overly-buoyant chest thumping and trash-talking which is the prerogative of all footy fans.
