Brown’s Surgery a Success
By Tony Greenspin for spittle.com.au

Star Tiger forward Nathan Brown has declared that surgery last week to remove the rod in his fractured leg has been a success, and says he is looking forward to joining full training early in the pre-season.

“They replaced the metal rod with a testosterone-releasing implant,” he explained. “I’m already feeling bigger and better. I look absolutely ripped in my Lenny gear.”

Brown agreed that the testosterone implant would attract criticism, but said that the AFL should follow the lead taken by the racing industry, which allows the use of steroids to rehabilitate injured racehorses.

AFL CEO Andrew Demetriou said he’d look further into the matter, particularly the way that the racing industry deals with horses with broken legs. He added: “They shoot the horses, don’t they?”
