Did anyone else catch Nathan Brown on Sports Tonight?

Looked ok when running, although a slight limp when he pulled up, but moved ok for someone who sustained that sort of injury.

Great just to see the man running though, glad to see him back on the track.

Watching him last week compared to last night he has taken great strides forward.Amazingly already hitting guys on the lead lace out :clapping

I got so nervous watching him in those highlights on Sports Tonight. I kept staring at his legs as he was sprinting  :-\

Does anybody else get nervous/worried or am i just weird?  :shakehead

Totally agree NO upcountry bush league footy grounds for Browny, dont play him there.
Its bad enough our first 2 games are at Telestra, we'll just have to hold our breath about that.

No: 7 you are a champion.

Needs to be held back & not rushed.

I agree on the face of it. Seemed to be really battling and limping slightly when running through. I reckon he'll be fine long term, very gutsy, but maybe take it easier. But I'm no doctor.

What a sight for sore eyes (in more ways than one hey girls!!), to see Browny up and running is fantatistic. He should be congratulated on the hard work he's put in so far. Well done Browny!

He was doing lot's off stretching last night, seems to be running with a slight limp hardly noticeable but it was hard not to notice as i was looking at his behind on occasions. >:D.

what a freak to get back to where he is now!!
Agree after an injury like that. Must temper expectations.

Could not agree more. Given that the medical staff know better than us, I would hate to see him rush back and break down, maybe ending his career. Take it one week at a time, as they say.

After watching Browny yesterday, I personally can't see him back by round 1. In fact, I would be surprised if he made it back by round 5-6. My prediction is that he'll play his first game just before the mid season break.

In saying that, I hope I am completely wrong. ::)

If he's not 100% Newmo then I hope you're completely right. Ease him back in. If its round 6 or 10, doesn't matter but don't rush him. 06 is another building year. Its 07/08 that really matters IMO.

Exactly, the last thing we need is for the dribblers to have him rushed back to early and risk a multitude of problems for what can only be a dubious gain. Patience needed by all.

I think we all agree he only needs to come back when he's 100% ready. That should be the plan regardless of which round it is. Let's just make sure we all don't become armchair surgeons lambasting the club if he actually happens to be ready for round 1 though.

Good post hopps.

Far too many armchair surgeons on here making a big fuss, its driving me crazy!

Congratulations must go to Brownie for even coming back!! After an experience like that it must have crossed his mind to give it away. I hope everything goes well for him in 2006. Probably the mental hurdles will be the toughest to overcome.

Too true. When I broke and dislocated my ankle many years ago, one Physio got into me for walking on it without crutches. When I asked the surgeon about it, he said, it was crap because the bone was as strong as before and would take an extremely hard impact in the same spot to break it again. As long as it wasn't causing pain he said the more I did on it the better.

Then later on I had a young physio who gave me heaps and really made me work the ankle hard and he improvement he made in a short time was amazing. He said the same. You cant really do any damage once it has healed. It was just a matter of strengthening and stretching the tendons and muscles etc.
