Had to laugh at Radar, Christiansen Walls etc discussing Cuz's bird.
*smile*s were trying to suggest Cuz was flipping off the viewers and footy supporters.
Ambo chasers and news fabricators in the media hyperventilate, manufacture and manipulate every situation to ensure circulation of their product.
Pity the whole club from the Marchfly down to the bootstudders didn't line up and flip a collective bird at the media for some of the *smile* they've been putting out in recent times.
Totally agree.
Love Tora's avatar...hey maher :rofl

im guessing since they only peps that would of seen that live was media and with all the attention cuz got when he stepped of the plane the wallace factor and the hole of richmond in the media cause of the scumbag rumor mongrel media feeding of our troubles was totaly called for in my opinon cuz just did what we all felt did u guys not hear the interveiw with cuz on the ground after the game ????? worth every cent of the 1200 fine he will get :clap

From today's Age:

Angry AFL boss Andrew Demetriou said the gesture was "totally unnecessary".

Cousins was taking part in a pre-match warm-up with Richmond teammates at Subiaco Oval on Saturday night when he looked at the in-room camera and gave it 'the bird'.

The incident was shown on national television.

"We don't want any players doing that sort of thing, let alone Ben Cousins," Demetriou told ABC Television on Sunday.

"He'll have to explain himself, it was totally unnecessary, very unwarranted and it didn't make any sense."

Typical AFL response, pity the AFL do not ask for a "please explain" from Sheanan and Co for their circus at Punt Road the other week.

Silly me, we can't offend the god almighty media, double standards and all. What's the odd's Cousins will be hauled up in front of the tribunal and given a suspension or some other crock.

AFL W--kers.

Yes Cuz is arrogant. So what... he believes in WINNING at all costs.
Hopefully some of his spirit rubs off on the other palyers.

Agreed. The gesture was proboably aimed at the low lifes in the media who make a living on sensationalist gutter jouranlism!! Whilst it was an unnecessary thing to do, I have no problem with it. Well done Cuz on a great game and tremendous on field leadership!!!!

Channel " We had Eddie Once" are making a meal of this and A1 is making a tool of himself by demanding an apology. If it was 90 miins before the game and itw as not done live then it should be the boofhead at Channel 10 who should be apologising not Benny. How many other players have done it and not had the coverage. The scumbag media are trying to tear the place apart piece by piece. Cuz did nothing wrong and I for one would do the same over and over if I was him. Now watch A1 make a media circus out of this. His media interviews this week will focus upon one act that was blown out by Channel "Once had Eddie" who should be apologising NOT Ben.

C'mon Andrew....if you ahve any balls ask them why they showed it over and over and over? Did they have to show it? NO. It was a nothing issue and now it will be screened over and over and you will make yourself look like an even bigger goose.

Leave Ben alone and go after the galahs who screened it...bet you dont ask them for a please explain will you? No coz you want and NEED their $$$$$.

It was pathetic hearing Steven Quartermain on MMM today trying to justify Channel 10 showing the incident. He was less than convincing when accosted by Dunstall and co on the issue.

For :police: sake it was the pre match warm up right?
He was just stretching/exercising his middle finger. Nothing wrong with that.
If he doesnt stretch properly he may strain it and miss a fortnight.

Man they blow these little things way out. I liked the bad boy look on his facce when he did it...what a bad man ;D Hey kids Ben Cousins is a bad role model, he flips the bird every now and then.

Okay he will get a fine but its just over done.

With what he's had to put up with from the media over the last 6 mths.....

DO YOU BLAME HIM?????

He did what he does on the field and was good for us, thats all I care about......good on him for havin' a go back.... we all need to get a grip if ya reckon thats damaging to the brand....ggeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ;D

Although i wouldnt condone such behaviour under most circumstances I think in this case the media deserve it

Read somewhere else that the Ch 10 dressingroom camera followed him and noone else for the entire warm up and his finger gesture was basically a "you want to follow me, cop this"

If this is true, then Ch 10 should have to explain why they borderline harrass one player.

But really, if this is a big story then we have all lost complete perspective and the media is going just a little further down the toilet.

Not the smartest thing in the world by Cousins but massive over-reaction by media.

Yep storm in a tea cup stuff. Except a 35 minute Hutchy blow by blow report on the Footy show.

We don't know what he was thinking either way.  People are speculating to suit their own point of view.  The fact is he knows the footage in the rooms is done for the viewing audience and they would more likely than not see his actions.  Because of his self-indulgence RFC is getting a lot of negative attention, rightly or wrongly, that we could well do without.

I disagree Rosy,

You're entitled to do that Massai.  Believe me I disagree with plenty of your posts too.  Different viewpoints are what make a forum interesting. :)

I thought they were fixed cameras in all of the rooms G29.  Is that wrong?

Dunno about that. Hutchy has a soft spot for Cuz. Recko he might take the "over-reaction line by the media" that he sometimes hypocritically takes.

Heard David King on the radio and no doubt was asked about Cousin's bird. Kingy said the club were dissapointed, I listened to it carefully and did not hear him say neither him or anyone at the club supported Ben's actions.

I don't know whether to laugh at some of the views in this thread, or the outrage shown by Vlad :rofl

FMD - What a serious non issue.
