We should be happy Browny or Newman didnt have to go through what Matty Maguire is going through now.

Sorry Checkers I missed that what's happened with Maguire's leg? Complications?
He might need skin grafts and is going in for a 5th(?) operation. He has been in hospital for 3 weeks aswell.

Just for your information ToO

So what sort of recovery/rehab is Browny in for? Will he need to be nursed through the early part of the pre-season or will he be right to go from the get-go?

i heard it'll keep him out of action for a month... so no mad monday? :-\

Look I hate to relate this but I have a mate/bastard (roo supporter) who states confidently that Brownie will never be the same again.  His confidence relates to the Liverpool player with the same injury.  If you remember our medical staff went to talk to their medical staff for advice on his injury.  Well despite the best injury and rehab money can buy the Liverpool player has snapped his leg again - after the rod came out.  He was jogging!

And we have two players with that injury!

Footy players pack a bit more muscle than soccer players but don't know that this will help.

Lets hope he and Newman regain their confidence.

It amazing, the brokn leg was so bad that it affected his other leg :P

Yes in medical terms it is known as the transferant break.....a very rare break that can transfer from one leg to the other with minimal impact.... ;)

He might need skin grafts and is going in for a 5th(?) operation. He has been in hospital for 3 weeks aswell.

He developed compartment syndrome. Due to swelling post surgery, the pressure in the leg builds up. Cuts are made into the leg called fasciotomies to relieve the pressure. When the swelling reduces, you need further surgery to close those cuts. If it takes a little too long, skin grafts may be needed to assist in the healing process.
