Mick McGuane has taken the assistant coaches role with St Kilda so looks like we'll need a new person to study the opposition.

Oh no, he's taken all of our secrets to St.Kilda! :D

It's a shame as he seemed well regarded. Good luck to him though.

St.Kilda will need all the coaching help they can get with Doughboy at the helm.
Can you imagine the fight over the sweets on the selection table with those two together!

Well, that frees up some Club80 money to go elsewhere.

Good luck to Mick, he'll be a good assistant to the Saints.

Could we go any worse against the Saints with him there?

Smart move by McGuane as he probably can sniff a senior coaching opportunity at the Saints should 06 not deliver a flag ;)

Agree. McGuane's on a winner. If the Saints go well he wins. If they don't it just adds to his CV as a first year assistant and he could even end up taking the reigns from the Tank Engine.
Let's hope the work he's done already for Miller & Wallace pays some dividends(and we learnt a thing or two from him).
Good luck to Micky.

There would've been a better opportunity at his old club where the other Micky has less chance of continuing if it's another failed season.

There's that too.

Shame your 6000th post was dedicated to the Scum TF. Congrats anyway!

Thanks ToO, at least Scumwood can continue to fail with dud coaches. ;D

Very good point their Force ;) :hihi

Mick chatted with the crew on SEN tonight and sounded very happy that he is now 'in the system'. Many have heard stories of Mick as a 'green jacket lover', but let me tell you this, Mick has a footy brain and will probably one day move on from an assistant coach, if you know what I mean.

It was interesting to hear that Huddo said that he maybe the next Collingwood coach, providing the Saints nail the big one, Mick's resume will look impressive. Another key attribute Mick has that isn't reflected in his personal resume is the the way he can get to know his players, he has the 'street smarts' and really become a good mentor. Mick knows how to talk the talk, and walk the walk, good luck Mick.

Which leads me to ask the question, does the RFC (TW) require the position of Forward Scout? How serious are they with this position? Did TW take MM off the street to groom him for bigger and better things in the future, but the St. Kilda job came along and TW's plans have come to a sudden stop? Anyway, we'll never know, but I do expect a new face at the club!
