Wayne Campbell could definately go round again!!!!!
he had 24 touches today and has been brilliant this year in a reduced role off the bench. Not to mention his leadership on the field which we lack!!!
He's still getting around 15-20 touches a game this year!
He's definately cutting short his career. Especially with only 3 more to go to 300!
BVut look how good we looked this year early on.
We're a big chance again next year to go deep in the finals especially with Lids, Tambo, Cogs and Patto being a year better for their efforts!!!!!

GO ROUND AGAIN WAYNE and ROAR with us in 2006!!!

Congratulations Wayne, we'll all miss you enormously. :'(

Its nice to know that we've got some talented youngsters to fill his shoes once he's gone.

He's gone Richo_12.

He's had a long career. We're not in premiership contention, therefore he is making the best decision.

Like him or dislike him, he has been the most consistant Richmond player over the last 10 years. He will be missed.

Its the right time for Campbo - he's going out on his own terms.

Thanks for a great career Wayne.

A very emotional send off, would of been nice if we crossed the line for Cambo.

They all played for ya Wayne, and each and one of your team mates can hold their head up high.

The look on his face after the siren said it all. After 15 or so seasons with the Tiges, he's all too used to it. They really did try for him today, but skill error let us down. Congrats Wayne, enjoy your post playing years fella, you've ern't it.

I'm glad Wayne made the decision and went out whilst still earning his spot. It's always sad to see guys hanging on and limping to the 300, ala the farcical situation with Mick Martyn. I just hope Campbo doesn't regret his decision later on.

Agree

I heard Campbo interviewed on 3LO tonight. He said Terry sat down and said well what are we going to do and Capbo simply replied he's had enough, and Terry said that's the reply he expected.

Campbo said he'd play another 30 years if he didn't have to train and swim and box etc but he simply doesn't want to face up to that anymore. He said captaining the club is a personal highlight for him, an absolute honour, and our finals wins are the highlights from a team perspective.

Asked his assessment of where we're at Campbo suggested we needed a CHF to help Richo out and we needed a big strong CHB, but that Jay did well there today and he might be the one we need.

Wayne is going to sit down with Terry in a couple of weeks and discuss a role for him to stay involved at the club once he's been o/s for a long holiday and cleared his head a bit.

He also said we have to win a Grand Final in the next few years while Richo is there because he's a once in a generation forward....I think he wanted it for Richo as much as for the club.

I'll drink to that Campbo. :beer

Happy and safe travels Wayne and Sarah. :)

:beer Cheers Wayne. You were much maligned, but in my view a bloody superstar who gave his heart & soul to a club that was a rabble for almost your entire career. Dont know how many players have won 4 B&F's & played in 297 games but I bet you can count them on one hand. Your'e a Richmond & AFL legend and you did it your way. Thanks for the memories.

Well done Wayne. You've busted a gut for us over the past 15 years and congratulations on a great career. Pity there weren't more team highlights for you. You've gone out on your terms, still playing decent footy, as a champion should. Best of luck in whatever you decide to do in the future. :clap :clap :clap

Congratulations to Wayne on a great career. :clap

Interesting that he and Knighter went out with a one point loss each (I think) Cambo to the Cats Knighter to the Dons.

Here is to 2006.

But the only difference being was that Knighta was way past it and Campbell wasnt in their last games.

Well done Campbell on a great career :clap

Well done Wayne, good luck with life after football (if there is such a thing) and hope to see you round the club helping the kids in one way or another.
