Thats only the tip of the iceberg Hoppa-ote.
Have you checked the fixture for the year?
Note how many MCG games, how few interstate games, how many stand alone games, how many free to air games on TV.
McChins used to bleat about Brisbane having an 'unfair playing field'....LMFAO.
The Footy Show...loosely based on the life and times of the Carringbush with 6 minutes of time per show given to any other club( but admittedly better than when the nausiating Mc Chins was wanking errr...waxing away about them at every given opportunity.
Kilometres of newspace, both print and TV...ect ect.
How the *smile* can the AFL get on their knees and appease them so often on every level?
Why they are creating them this golden path to help them just try and takeover the comp in Melbourne?
As futile as it is,I have a pact never to pay to go to a Scumwood home game ever again.
Nor will I set foot in the Lixarse centre...even if the Miss Universe pagent is in there pouring free beer.
They will never get a brass razoo from me ever again.
The AFL have got it arse about in a way. The Pies will always have strong support no matter what and by giving them every advantage are slowly strangling many of the other clubs. The AFL should be working on advantaging the lesser teams in order to strengthen the entire competition. Always work on your weaknesses.
The ANZAC day game is a classic example. The Pies and Bombers will draw 70,000 + no matter when or what time they play so getting 90,000 on ANZAC day is only a marginal increase for that game and those clubs. IN fact there has been occassions where the return game drew a bigger crowd. However, say the Bulldogs and the Dees played on ANZAC day, depending on how they are going but they may draw 70,000 when they only normally draw 30,000-40,000 at best which is a significant increase for the status and monetary return for both those clubs.
If ANZAC day was rotated amongst the clubs, significant interest would be generated for each club when it was 'their turn', further boosting the crowds on that day regardless of who plays. It would become 'an event' for whichever clubs were playing in any particular year IMO leading to minimum 60,000 plus regardles of who is playing.
How does a thread about the Hun suddenly equate to hijacking the ANZAC day game. It was Sheeds initiative, and like most of his ideas - has been hugely successful - so much so that the poorer clubs want to steal it off us.
