PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

Its amazing the ends of the spectrum discussed on here sometimes. Phantom suggests a 0-22 season is a must so that we can get Kruzer and picks 16 and 17. Yet others believe that due to our competitive showings that a miraculous winning streak is imminent.

My rant is; with so many exciting prospects coming through the ranks this year, it is foolhardy to expect either a 0-22 season (or near to) or a miraculous winning streak (although that one would be nice). The rebuild is underway (note to Phantom and others) and the winning culture must be cultivated NOW! or at least as best as possible. Supporters of Essendon and Collingwood haven't squealed like pigs as a lot of ours have as well as the media. We are a misconceived annual basket case! In Robert Wall's latest article he basically says that the last 2 years we played above ourselves but now that it seems that we are having an off season, have a listen to all the histrionics that go on amongst supporters and the media. A question I ask is, At season's end will we be judged on a par with Essendon if all we manage is 3 wins just like they did last year?

If our prospects and our current season were a court in session, by seasons end there would have been many a 'Hung Jury'.

The morale; 'Don't be too hasty to judge the direction of the Richmond Football Club - Court is still in session!'
