PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

I wasn't listening to the Carlton v Collingwood game, but heard reports afterwards that with scores locked at the 14 minute mark, Ratten has taken his best three players from the field (Carrazzo, Scotland & Fevola), and this is when the Pies kicked away!

It's hard to believe this wasn't done to throw the game, particularly when one of these players is your full forward who'd hardly need to be rested. One caller from this game reporting the situation stated that both Carrazzo and Scotland didn't want to leave the field at the time! Both of these players amassed over 30 possessions for the game. It's hard to believe a coach would rest both of them at the same time as resting your leading forward - right as scores are locked. You wouldn't do this in your right mind because the obvious will and did happen.

Doing something as blatant as this to lose a game strikes at the very heart of the competition. There are rules dealing with draft tampering, and this isn't any different. It means that a club is performing worse than it's ability to score draft picks, and a club more deserving drops down the order.

Imagine being a club sitting just below the Pies trying to make the finals, or being a punter with serious money on the Blues.

If the AFL doesn't look into this then something is wrong.

Mike Sheahan creates media beat ups over nothing but i hope he decides to create some serious media pressure over this issue because if a club is going to so obviously tank games, then whats the use following football.

I'll be emailing him and hope everyone else gets on his case over this issue. He can be emailed at: [email protected]
