Carltony

Rewatching the opening game this morning.

Beat them with Green, Blight, Dow, Sonsie & Bauer in the side.

Trezise was excellent that night. Ross too.

PS: Geez I hope we get Lalor right. Stunning.

I just love seeing Carlton continuing as a rabble, followed closely by Essendon, 2 of the most arrogant supporters I remember growing up.

Hawks fans more recently take the cake, but still love seeing Carlton struggle.

28 with bad knees and three A grade seasons. He’s a better Jack Stringer with better PR.

Perfect time to move him on. Won’t have real value after another year.

Looks fit, looks strong, can’t run. Lost explosiveness.

Doesn’t show up when it matters. Hugely overrated.

I agree they should move him on. They need to be serious instead of believing the rubbish they have for the last 5 years that this list is good enough to win a Premiership. It hasn't been, not enough quality roleplayers and too many that believe they are guns when they are bog average (see Saad as an example).

For me, if Carlton are going to improve they need to identify where the list is, and why they need to refocus on their under 25 year olds.

Looking at their delistings and the players they are linked to in the trade market, I don't think they've realised this, so its down down they go again.

Carlton and Essendon are just incapable off field. Worse than us in the early to mid 2000s. They aren’t prepared to do the hard work with their list and be patient enough. Carlton 5 best players came through high draft picks and then went out and bought a series of mediocre players. Saad, McGovern plus 5 gws players and 5 GC players, swans midfielder etc. Essendon no better. Problem with clubs with supporters with serious money who then join boards and coteries. Because they made a *smile* tonne of money they think they know something about football.

Agree
They cant handle rebuilding or rejuvenation of lists.
They think like they did in the 80's & 90's.
Just buy to keep completing

Essendon and Carlton are still mired in old thinking. It’s just so delicious

A hard partying Hollands giving us only a half a dozen good games a year and sacked again after two seasons of "mental health breaks" & "personal leave" would still be a massive upgrade on whatever Dow & Sonsie combined are likely to give us over the same period.

Not actually advocating for getting Hollands btw - Scumbaggers probably trying to pull another Yarran scam.

Him at a party is an upgrade on Sony and Prestia.
