Geelong are arguably the best team in 2008 and deserve the premiership - doesn't mean they will get it!
Hawks have rebuilt from ground zero to be in a grand final - is there a fairytale end to this story?
Why do I want the Cats to Win? Because
- they play a brand of footy that I like to watch.
- they are tough and hard at the footy but fair.
- they stuck with their coach and footy admin during the dark days.
- my nextdoor neighbour hails from Geelong and she has followed them since the 1950s.
- I like watching Ablett weave his magic.
- I like watching Ling do the tough inside 1%
- I like the sheer class of Bartel
Why do I want the Hawks to Win? Because
- they have rebuilt their players list correctly
- they have a coach that on his appointment all in the media said he was failure waiting to happen
- they are the same colours as my son's junior footy club (same club song too!)
- I like watching Mitchell play
- I like to see Crawford go out a winner
- I would like to hear Terry Wallace's opinion on the Hawks list now (remember he reckoned the Tiger's list had more depth than the Hawks when he chose to coach the Tigers over the Hawks - if he had of gone to the Hawks chances are they would now be a running team with no Roughead or Franklin)
Why do I want the Cats to lose? Because
- I don't like the arrogance of the their fans (look forward to the day us Tigers can be so arrogant though)
- I don't like the arnmchair ride the umpires give them - they seem to get all the 50/50 decisions
- I don't like the fact that they gave one of our best footballers a premiership medal when we couldn't :dummyspit
Why do I want the Hawks to lose? Because
- I don't like their crude in your face type of footy (but I loved it in '73 and '74 when the Tigers did it)
- I don't like the thought that Franklin could have been in Yellow and Black :dummyspit
- I don't want a team that was on the bottom of the ladder with us recently to be successful before we are. :dummyspit
Either way the winner will not be a team of my liking.
After all that I think I will watch the game but only cheer at half time when the Grand Final Sprint is on.
