Certain De-listings, Possible Retirements & Potential Trades

I forgot about Meyer...

Casserley needs to prove his worth fast, we cant keep him based on potential wihout even hinting that he will give the 1's a shake. Draga was in the same boat, he needs to be delisted and sup listed imo.

Talking about the sup list...Cam Howat must be on the outer too.

The loss of the 2009 draft make it a buyers market, but the teams that might be buying: Hawks, Doggies, Pies, Lions. Have or are developing cap issues, so it’s hard to see anyone we’re prepared to lose on our list being work anything more than a junk pick. The most valuable of our trading players is probably Petts last year we may have got a second rounder but that window has passed, we’d be lucky to get a pile of magic beans now.

Maybe Sarge for a 2nd rounder? His value has gone up this year I reckon.

Miller has rung up SEN. He said if you are from another club, and you are serious about the magic beans, he is prepared to offer Petts and our first round pick in exchange for your second round pick and the magic beans.

I've been thinking that the good trade year will probably be 2010.

Agreed 2008 will be a buyers market. Maybe a third rounder for Pettifer. Maybe squat. In which case I'd keep him. The new team will give you something for him in 10. Even if it's just a 3RDP. Likewise Pole-hack.

Schulz would be great trade bait at the end of this year. Last year he was still contracted. This year he has improved and, if there was a 28 offer last year, I reckon based on performance it would be higher this year. I just cant see him being a consistent player week in week out, there's something missing in his makeup.

If he's out of contract why would someone give us a high pick.
He'd just go in the PSD for nothing 'cos it's only the bottom four clubs that would need someone like him

I'd be inclined to agree except I don't trust Wallace to judge Petts the same as the younger players, axing him removes temptation.

We have a list that has the 2nd lowest number of 190cm+ players in the comp.

Personally I can't see us moving on any talls. Might need to add a couple more if anything.

Plenty of flankers could be offered as bait though. ;)

They probably wouldn't, my point was if he was 28 last year, he's definitely improved on where he was last year. As for going PSD, its a bit more complicated than that. How many good players have you ever seen go in the PSD? Very few. Players who are wanted rarely go through to the PSD. Especially if there may be more than 1 team interested. As I said, Im sure there'd be a team or two that might value Schulz's improved season this year. Maybe not.

We got Moore and Thursty from the Rookie list.

Why the hell haven't we been throwing something at this, Oldster? We need deep rookie drafts from here on. Tall backs and rucks are there to be found. Silvester hasn't worked out. Nor Cartledge but at least they are the right types. We need more of them.

Agree on Silvester but are you sure re. Cartledge Jack?

Has been solid and consistent at Coburg just hasn't had a go at senior level because (for once) we have had a good run with long term injuries.

Not sure on Cartledge, Western. I've only seen him play one game this year and with a senior berth begging he was worse than useless. Lazy. Lost. Soft. Small. 23yo or whatever.

We could have put Cogs on the LTI list if we'd wanted. But no way the rookies have earned a pay rise.

Anyways I'm not really bagging them (or at least I wasn't ;D). I hope they do work out. I like the Cat. Shame. My point is I reckon we need more rucks and tall backs on the rookie list.
