chaff

Chaffey, Hall, Stafford (retired), Gaspar (may stay on a severely reduced new contract otherwise out the door), Rodan (too short and slow), Tivendale (trade bait)

Anyone else to add to the list???

Never been a great advocate of just cutting players, but after watching yesterday's dual comedy act between Chaffey and Hall both of these guys have to be dropped from the team and removed from the list at seasons end. They're taking up spots that kids with genuine talent could use.

Chaffey summed up his entire RFC tenure yesterday.

Gusty effort to get thing and then cannot spot up a presenting Richo with a 30 metre hit up kick that should be a staple of any AFL footballers diet. Needless to say it dropped five metres short bounced over Richo's head and the Bulldogs rebounded for a Rohan Smith goal from 40 on the run.

Somewhere on here described when Chaffey was playing his best football it was circa 2000. That is six years ago. He has a solid run at Richmond and has nothing to be ashamed of, got everything out of his body but his time is up.

Possibly Chaffey ignored Richo's lead because he knows the big fella has been about as accurate as an unattended fire hose on full throttle this season ::)

So he thought he'd give Richo a chance on the run, by bouncing the ball in front of him? Our delivery into the F50 has been abysmal and Chaffey's just another example of it. We know Richo is erratic, but he's got to get the ball to be erratic...he's not getting the ball. No point blaming him.

Why not? He leads into tight pockets when he should be leading where he can kick them from. Young Shulz is much better in this regard and the stats confirm it. Richo has 25 goals 24 behinds from 14 games this year and Sarge has kicked 12 goals 3 behinds from 8 games. I bet Richo has kicked a lot more out on the full as well. Also Jay played some of the early games in defence.

I'm not defending Chaffey just pointing out they both need to do a lot better.

If you read what I wrote Hayfever ther is no doubt that he was kicking to Richo, this was on the wing.  There was no choice in the matter, he just coudn't hit a target like a AFL footballer should.   Not on his own yesterday but after eight years of this it is time to move on.
