As of next year any Club,s first Listed Rookie will be able to play Senior Football without a Club putting a player on the LTIL from Round 11.

Choose wisely Tigers :)

Very wisely skipper

im not sure if i recall correctly but under that rule , i think Clay Collard would be that player under that rule would he not.

He was the first rookie taken last year.

Dont know how that effects this year should he remain on the Rookie List.

This makes it easier to keep him on the rookie list.

Collard should stay on the rookie list because he can. Polak should be moved there are well, again because he can be. This will open up places on the list that can be filled in the draft, thus ensuring a wider choice of players.

Who plays and who doesn't can be sorted out next year, for now they should be looking at just getting players on the list somewhere, with th eearliest possible picks.

First listed or first drafted this year?

at richmond what does this rule change mean. clearly for wallace it will mean rookieing another mature dud like howat or silvestor or cartledge we can forget about any diamonds in the rough at first pick. the stupidity will continue mark my words.

I read that as the club nominating a selected player to be the "first listed rookie" who can play without a LTI effecting the team.

For example, you might pick up a tall project player with your first rookie pick but you will put a midfielder in the 'first position' in case he hits good form and there are no bad injuries.

That makes sense, and is likely to make the rule far more effective.

Collard better be promoted or 1st rookied or i will seriously dump more than horse mannure at tigerland :hihi

:hihi ;D

He is a livewire and played some fantastic footy in the last part of the year and finals. Richmond needs a crumbing forward and Collard can play that role.

IMO why does the AFL bite the bullet & allow clubs (maybe 1 or 2 players) to be delisted from their senior list & then place those players on the rookie list.
(Restricted they can't play before round 11 as well).
