Let’s pick a team with 2 genuine rucks. This isn’t 2017.

I broadly agree,

but dogs wont have English next week,

so we could go solo with Nank for another week?

we're gonna need speed against the dogs

I'm still a believer in the threepeat, but there is no doubt the Tigers have lost their mojo.
Dimma and the players need to find a way to overcome this malaise.
Perhaps it's time to inject some enthusiasm into the team, generate some new energy.
Irrespective of introducing a few new players against the Doggies I would like to see some new faces who might have been pushing close.
On tonight's effort and the number of players who are simply out of form, the Doggies would be pretty odds-on to take the points against us next Friday.
It's going to be a long MC meeting this week.
Time to be bold and make some decisive moves.
I need to agree. Maybe one of other changes CCJ for TL19. Comments.....

Dimma was asked about RCD coming in and he looked frustrated. Didn't see the VFL. Did he disappoint? Missed opportunity if so.

Out: Dusty, Lambert, Aarts

In: Ross, Ralphsmith, M Rioli

Great opportunity coming in as the wounded underdog

Martin, Lambert are obviously out , I’m going to omit Aarts , I’m throwing MJ in under the big lights, I still think we need class up forward.

ins MJ, CJ i want Balta locked in down back and we need another marking option forward and somebody to give Nank a breather , on today’s form I don’t believe RCD deserves a gig, however hes shown previously he had ear to a chance, we need mids so debut the boy, Naish found plenty of it again, may as well have another look .

Go Tiges
MJR injured in the resrves today

I suspect it’s going to be another long night.

but we are suspected long night specialists

it is going to be tricky finding a like-for-like replacement for Dusty though

I'd give some consideration to Mabs next week.

he has a funny haircut

Rubbish time for Dow to be unavailable. Looks a bit like the prototype we need to be looking to bring in. Will be disappointed if they go conservative and look to Caddy. Opportunity next week to see who wants it.

We need not just to replace players, we need to refine the strategies a bit.

Out: Martin (inj), Lambert (inj) and Aarts
In: CCJ, Ross, RCD

I know RCD has not set the world on fire but he has been on our list for a few years now and he needs to be tried, we will need big bodied mids next week and he needs to debut. If we don't debut RCD this year we should de-list him. I have no idea how he is supposed to get up to AFL level if he has to play so many games in the VFL, plus, the VFL rules are now such that it is barely preparation for the AFL any more - they have to get rid of the stupid restriction on where players are at ball ups, throw ins etc.

CCJ to me is a no-brainer. We need 2 rucks. Could get away with it against StKilda but clearly couldn't this week and can't next week. Plus he should go forward and take some heat off Jack and Tom. Caddy is not the answer and Caddy can't play anywhere else but forward IMO.

Pickett to spend some time in the middle (not in the ruck).

CCJ to be second ruck and third tall forward when not rucking.

Balta to stay in defence all game.

Forward line strategy, what of it there is, needs to change. Lynch needs to be more mobile, he needs to be running around so he doesn't constantly have a few defenders hanging off him. It is very easy to double and triple team a tall forward when they aren't moving around. Rioli defending space seems to be of less use than it was, he needs to be playing a more creative role. We also need to be way more competitive on the ground in the forward line, opposition teams are running it out of our forward line way too easily and not just Melbourne this week, other teams have also been doing this. We give the opposition's small defenders too much space. Sure, giving them limited outlets to get it out of defence is fine, but we are giving them too much opportunity to run it out with short passes and handballs. This must stop.

If Grimes is out I'm not sure who can replace him, Miller or Grathwaite? Anyone else?

Caddy will come back in
Agree. I would bring him in for Aarts.
Aarts might have him covered for pace but Caddy is a better and smart footballer. Plus can play tall. We wasting him in the reserves.

Graham, Pickett & Ross most likely to fill the midfield gaps.
CJ to come in. Maybe Caddy too.
Like to see more pace but where from??
Tough to pick a team.

If you are looking for pace then it has to be RCD in the midfield and MRJ up forward.

I don't quite get the obsession with RCD? the first question Dimma gets is

'will Collier-Dawkins play next week?'

don't they watch the 2nds?

the 2nds worried me a bit today - made our depth look shallow.

Out: martin, lambert, grimes

In: Ross, CJ, stack

3 forced changes is a bitter pill.
High draft picks before debuting always get extra attenion Ezzzzy , on yesterday he dosent deserve a gig, however we need mids especially against the Dogs , great opportunity for the kid , we may have to give Martyn another crack too, as we won’t have Dusty, Prestia and Lambert out .

As you know I’ve been a tad worried about th3 depth, it’s good, however nobody is jumping out saying 200 gamer at this point, good thing there all young with potential, not old and past it , Caddy is the only one in that bracket I’d say.

Doing the team for rd 1 was very easy as there was only really 24 or 25 that it could be picked from, one being where a champion premiership team and 2 the young Cubs aren’t smashing th3 door down.

Should be a very exciting year as we dig deep and find replacements for the 3 timers, biggest thing we need is mids not just for the future but we need Dusty playing more inside forward 50, that’s the weapon that can fix our long bomb option.

Even if our Dynasty has ended I will be dressing in today’s trends , home will not be redecorated and I will drive the same car for the rest of my life , long live 2017

Will Martyn is one the we keep on forgetting. Me thinks he is ahead of RCD in the match committees thinking.

Throwing Stack in at this stage is just asking him to fail
