Changes against the Bulldogs

I'm very wary of this game. The Dogs are flat track bullies who thrive on mauling much younger teams like ours. The flip side is that, since the 100-point thrashing by Geelong last August, they haven't shown their characteristic fight when things go against them.

My feeling is that whichever side gets ~3 goals in front will win, and given our regular poor starts, it's more likely to be them than us.

How would they handle a 3rd Q like we did against the Blues ? Come back from behind and take the lead ? I'm hoping that will leave them questioning themselves in the last.

lucky it will be on a dry ground under the roof. otherwise we'd lose in the wet.

as an up and coming team, do we not have to start winning these unwinnable games..
or are we consigned to always the half glass full is this the RFC destiny...if so then lets just
shut up shop...

im sure the top teams of today had to start winning these games along the way
which allowed those groups to gather confidence that they could actually
match it with the teams that had been up for a few years or had the wood over them

i think the team have confidence perhaps not the supporter base...

Maybe 'cos we've been watching the team lose since before any of the current team was born. ;)

I think the way the Freo game ended flattered us; doubt we'll be able to play with such freedom on the smaller ground against an experienced team at the crossroads. We've got a good chance though.

As a punter Leysy surely we should be favourites on form? It's not like we are up against a proven champion. They have had the wood on us but we are a different group (much the same as Carlton beating Sydney this year).

From the 2009 side that lost by 68pts there are only 8 players - Reiwoldt/Deledio/Cotchin/Foley/Newman/Rance/Jackson/McGuane still in the side. And these guys are all much better players than 2 years ago.

From the 2010 side that lost by 72pts there are only 12 players - those named above and Martin/King/Nahas/Vickery/Edwards/Nason. (Rance & Foley didn't play this one) Martin & Nahas would be in the top 5 in the B&F and King & Vickery are playing much better than last year. (actually Kingy has always been a champ).

Add players such as Grigg, Conca, Grimes, Houli & Batchelor and a game style the players are gaining confidence in are a much more formidable better side than they have faced. And that's not even looking at their deteriorating list.

If you can get better than even money you are getting overs.

Won' happen. Tigers by plenty.

On form Yes we can certainly win. Leysy hasnt suggested otherwise against a Dog team well under strength & with a coaching change in the wings.

Just commenting on the fallout on here if we do happen to get rolled.

That's the spirit! ummm... I think?

see again why did it flatter us...we won an we won handsomely by playing great football.
back in my day (yes im old) we expected this as a club and as supporters we expected
it from the club and players its about time we changed our mindset...

yes i realise we have some way to go but geez i think we are too scared to believe that maybe
just maybe we are on our way...

i thank god every day i was so lucky to see a powerful RFC club...my
first evergame
been the 69 grandfinal at 5 years of age....

go you mighty tiges....

Think the dogs will be hard to get over so a great game for us and diabolical for them if they fluff it. The match-up worrying me is Cooney. He has a lot of size though his fitness seems down this year - but improving. Obviously the G would have been better to run them around a bit.

I'm puzzled as to why you take exception to posts that aren't charged with positive fervour when it comes to Richmond's prospects.

Freo hoisted the white flag shortly before 3/4 time. They were like statues in the last. Yeah, we played some great footy before that, but they broke.

Not scared, just cautious. I'm not yet at the stage where I go to the match expecting us to bring our 'A' game as a matter of course. And the team's not at the stage where they can deliver it, either.

FWIW, I do believe. The St.Kilda game sold me.

Not much said bout it as yet but a loss to the Tigers tomorrow could be the first straw to land on the camels back for Rodney Eades tenure.

Judging by the supreme confidence by many posters there's going to be some severe gnashing of teeth come Sunday night on here if we get rolled.

What else is new?

Agreed Navy.

White for sub, let Nason have a run at it no point Ben subbing 3 games in a row.

and what if we win?

seems some want us to lose...

is it some perverse reason so they can declare "i told you so"

geez we live in a strange world..

Nason to sub again, I think no change is the right result

If the Bullies don't defeat us, their fat lady may start warbling, it's our best chance to defeat them for quite some time

If we do win, next Saturday night's crowd will be gigantic

I've tipped the Dogs because I think they're more likely to win. But if we lose I'll be down for a couple of days, as usual. Not a big fan of "I told you so", either.

I would love a win. Would love to see us not just win but destroy them in the last quarter.

But if we don't win, then it's not that bad. We're only a third of the way through our second season of our rebuild.

We've improved heaps on last year and as long as we're playing with passion, then that's all we need.

Eade wont be there regardless ILO Craigo.

Think they both need a break come years end & both see it like that.
