Changes for Port

Good changes. Moraes is in for Port as well. The 2024 draft is shaping up as a beauty.

Sonsie a bit stiff. Hard to do much coming in late as the sub.
Hope he dominates on ball at VFL and responds to the dropping.

Only saw highlights of the VFL practice game v Carlton. Did Smith go ok ?
Yeah. He was great. Got a lot of the ball and used it well.

I'd seen it as a tick, and thought with a couple more games like that he'd be an obvious in.

Glad they got him in now instead.

Match committee has rewarded form. I like it.

Yeah agree. Bit early for people to say Sonsie's finished...

I think its great that Smith kicked the door down and he has now been rewarded.

We desperately need his type in the team. The closest player we have to the Rioli replacement. We are crying out for that running half back with a bit of toe.

Unfortunately he will start as sub this week. But I hope he gets a good run at it.

So we are 2cm taller, 0.7kg lighter, 13 months younger and 32 games less experienced than Port:

Hope Green is the sub. Is not fit enough to run out 4 quarters. Was pathetic in the last quarter last week.

Must be confident that Blight is fit, I thought Gray might be an emergency.

Pathetic ?.thats a bit rough. He ran all day and certainly cramped up in the forth but so did a few others
He had no impact and is not fit enough. Not everyone cramped up. Football is not about running all day. You need to get the pill.

Thought Sonz didn't too much wrong with his limited game time ... I guess the expections are higher than that
Bloody stiff.

The only thing I can think of is we only want to make one change to the starting 22 (Fawcett for Lynch) and think it is better to get Sonsie to play a full VFL game rather than be sub again.

We seem to have a good balanced team out with the exception of a missing Lynch so I am hoping we can have a good game to celebrate Broady's 150th game. Good to see Fawcett get a game and Smithy in but like others I thought Sonz is a bit stiff being dropped. Still you can't accommodate all in the team sheet

I figure they were thinking of leaving Sonsie in as sub, and he really needs to be getting some full games. Maybe they are going to swap around between sub and VFL for a few players so they don't end up being sub for weeks in a row.

Like Fawcett in, let's have a look and see what he can do.

It's very different floating down out of the ruck, when the other ruckman (who was not a real ruckman on Thursday) is your opponent, rather than a defender. He's never, even at his best, managed to be much of a forward. But he's always been a very high minutes ruckman, more than most.

And other clubs who manage with a second ruck forward, have a second ruck forward. If we had one pressing for selection we'd look at it. Colina and OHB were competent, possibly even above expectations, but still only there for an emergency at this stage.

We won a premiership playing Nank one out, because we didn't have a viable second ruck option. When we did, we used it.
Ok, u have changed your tune.

In your post that I reply/commented on, u said we couldn’t play a second ruck. And suggested we just use Kmac or even Hopper as a second ruck.

Most on here suggesting we play a key position player who can chop out in ruck. But u think KMac or Hopper. I will leave it at that.
