I'm probably dreaming, but I will be in Barwon Heads on the weekend, is there any chance of getting a ticket to this match?

Here's a sobering stat, Geelong have won 33 out of the last 40 games they've played against the Tigers including 14 of the last 15.

if this club is gonna start making inroads, its very important we start ending those hoodoo's. we havent beaten st klilda since 2003 FFS. we also have a terrible record against the dogs as well (infact, you can add most of the victorian teams here - carlton 4 years, hawthorn 4 years, collingwood, etc, etc). not gonna happen this week though.

i don't think there will be any changes this week.

Unless you are a Geelong member, no chance

no chance

Agree H. No way the cats will be 1-3 after this game.

If North can beat them it's possible they're either declining or horribly out of form. Do you think we're a similar standard to North Harry?

Didn't they just beat the Hawks in Rd 2 after giving them a 3 goal start in the last? Not sure how you can conclude they are either on the slide or horribly out of form on the strength of the loss to North in the very next round.

Yeah, but the Hawks only beat Collingwood who are clearly below their best and Adelaide. Nothing special about their performances at all. Geelong are 1-2 coming off a drubbing to us in their last leadup game. That type of form is completely atypical of what they've dished up for the last 5 years. Saying there's no way they can lose this game is pessimism for pessimism's sake if you ask me.

Collingwood still beat us.
To win against last year's Premiers coming off a loss at their home ground would be a win for the ages.
Obviously we'd all love it to happen but it's a longshot even if we play really well.

The Geelong North played and the Geelong we play are two different things.Hawks knocked the stuffing out of em and now we have the fortune of them rebounding after a disappointing loss and playing their very first game in front of the ferrals at the Cattery.

I wish we had the Cats last week at the G.

Different proposition altogether.

Collingwood beat us bt we matched in with them for inside 50's and scoring shots. We were well in that game for all but 5 minutes no matter what the experts say.

We're definitely fairly long odds against but to say we're no chance is OTT.

bartel, selwood, kelly, corey, duncan, chapman,

deledio, cotchin, martin, foley, tuck, conca, grigg, ellis

i reckon we can go with them if all are playing well.

Grimes,Batch,Ellis Morris,Rance.

Now that's 5 players that are gonna hold us in great stead for the future.
Really think we can do this because our defense is way better.

Grimes is clever so is Rance.
They aren't gonna have it their own way in the forward line and our forwards are due for a few goals each.

Chris Scott pumping the chest.

Why can't we ?

Can't wait to get down there.

Agree Disco. The Cats aren't the same team as last season. Ottens in the ruck and Ling in the engine room are substantial outs.
Not to mention Scarlett missing this weekend. Still a very good team but we're getting closer..

Of course we do. Pfftt chapman, hes passed it. They are a very slow midfield, but they know how to win the contested footy. Foley, Lids, Cotchin, Martin can run them off their feet quite easily.

Not overly confident of a win but think we will really push them. If we can come out and hit them as hard as the Kanga's did I give us a great chance. They did look old and tired.

But then i checked out the cats v hawks game again and that just scared the daylights out of me....they didn't look to old and slow in that game.

Would love us to win, i'm hopefull of a win and it would set us up beautifully...but i can see a belting coming... put it down to experience and just expecting the same ol tigers...
