Changes for the Esserdope Game Friday Nite

Just how has Grigg earnt his spot in the side. He can't and won't tackle, chase or man up on opposition
players. He's totally useless, sits out on the wings sucking his thumb all day.

You obviously don't watch the. VFL side. If you did you would know he has had two good games in the 2's since coming back.

Last week 36 possessions of which 25 we're contested and 19 clearances playing on the ball. Miles wasn't making those numbers.

The week before 8 tackles as well as 30 possessions and 9 clearances

Yep. not a fan of Grigg but silly comment.

I honestly cannot fathom how Morris keeps getting games in the form he's played for the entire year. Its absurd.

Best of luck to him though, hope he proves me wrong.

Morris will contribute 3 goals to the bummers, courtesy of turnovers.

Predictable but disappointed for McDonough. Can't see how Morris deserves to come back in. Should have been dropped after being shocking against Port Adelaide.

Yes I agree on both counts, I can only imagine that McDonough is off back to SA next year

For some unknown reason I like Morris but when he continues to go to ground at so many contests irritates me. Can't hold his footing ffs.

Yep. He's obviously handed in his trade request. Either that or Hardwick has handed in his sanity.

Wat does McDonough have to do to get a recall has played well (consistent) and with kicking 3 goals last week obvious replacement for Lloyd....

Like everyone else here, I have no idea, but there is a rumour (and it is only a rumour) that he wants to go home to SA. Could be an explanation.

Well I actually think we need Grigg's outside running game given the personnel available. Too many plodders in the side last week not enough receivers.
Hope he plays well.

Gut running required this week. Interesting that he was played as an inside mid at VFL level. Are we looking to develop more clearance options?

The concern I have with these changes is based on their past form their inclusions vs the exclusions change the balance of the team enormously.
This is what I am worried about...
1) Grigg goes to his wing (I ignore the VFL contested/clearance numbers - this is AFL and he has been crap inside for years) pushing one of Brandon or Lids more inside to areas where they are less effective.
2) Shedwards has been really good playing more midfield time but now Lloyd is out he is the lone small forward so does he spend the whole night on the HFF/FP and we lose his clearance work.
3) We'll probably play a lot of ISO work up forward for Dusty robbing our midfield of his play.
4) If Daniher and Carlisle play then they are nightmare matchups for Rance and Chaplin when playing deep. Rance can torch them up at CHB by his run but they will do everything to get him deep. If it goes nasty and we flip Griff back to play deep KPD then there is no CHF, Beanie could have exploited something there and giving us flexibility with Griff.

It will be interesting to see how these players all line up and how the team structure works because we look to have way more mid-size talent that them across the ground and on the bench but they have better talls. This just looks like a weird team structure to me.

Can't believe how many people are saying they're glad Morris is back?
What about mcdonough?

Looks like it now. I can't work out this structure either. Gordon at FP? Is this Dimma's game plan C (Version 2.4) ?

After watching McDonough play a good game at half forward last week, and then Lloyd get nowhere near it and then have the red vest, it seemed a straight forward in/out at selection.

On the back of good games at half back, then through the middle, and last week down forward, what more does the kid have to do.

His kicking for goal is good, he takes a good grab for his size, he is creative and has a bit of mongrel in him too.

His treatment this year is as strange as anything to come out of the RFC in 2014, which is saying something.
