We used to have a lot of discussion about Spud's plan B (and C and D and E ) on here but there isn't so much focus on Terry's game plan. I don't see a whole lot of difference since Terry arrived. We still bomb to Richo, still turn it over at our forward 50, still kick to standing targets, still, despite recruiting for speed over strength, don't run and present properly and create options. We still stuff around in the backline, we still call out "kick the bloody thing" in frustration.

I reckon in just a few games Knighter has Essendon playing a different kind of footy and although they mightn't be winning they are still exciting to watch.

Can anyone tell me how our game plan has actually improved in the 4 years Terry's been there? I can't see it and I'd like to know what to watch out for to give me hope. It seems the same old, same old to me and it's depressing.

This is the most disappointing thing Rosy. That in 3-4 years Wallace has been unable to improve on any of those aspects of our game. To be in our position but at least show growth in those areas is something I can live with.

What happened to the exciting game plan that would give us at least 16 goals a game?

From the games I have seen on Foxtel it appears to me that Terry is trying to instill a running game into our young guys - running out of centre clearances - running off the half back line - running through the lines down the open "fat" side of the ground - problems with this are -

Our ball skills cannot cope with it so we are constantly turning it over

Once the ball is turned over our runners are caught well out of position

Our older players have trouble running out of sight on a dark foggy night

Once we cop a few goals against us we collapse back into a tempo game of keepings off where our skills usually let us down again

IMO where we are found really wanting is at CHB and CHF - if we had a strong player "with a take no prisoners" attitude at CHB it would create a far bigger rebound. Further if we had a strong tall classy "turn on a threepence" CHF it would straighten our attack up.

Our centre clearances and clearances around the ground are good - we fall down across the CHF line time and time again.

In answer to your question where has this differed from previous years game plans? Frawley had the idea on what to do it appeared he did not have the communication skills to get it across nor did he have the players - Wallace has introduced speed into our game unfortunately the skill is not there and he appears to have lost the players through playing them out of position - but then again in todays footy you have to be able to play in most positions if not all.

In a nutshell I think Wallace is all at sea at the moment and is looking for a lighthouse or land to gain some direction - for right now the RFC appears adrift.......

The main problem is we don't do enough off the ball to support the ball carrier. We don't shepherd or block we don't provide options......... At least not consistently. Everything else becomes magnified as a result. Its interesting that Knights can get his players playing with this style almost immediately when we still aren't doing it after 3 and a bit years.

To execute any game plan you have to have the cattle.

Wallace's game plan took the doggies almost to a grand final, but he had the cattle to execute his plan.

So it does not matter what game plan Wallace or Frawley have/had, unless you possess the players with skills to execute those plans you will fail, and fail they have.

The only thing Wallace can do is to realise, that with the players I have tried week in week out for the past 4 years, we have lost consistantly, I must now blood our youngsters and give them a fair and reasonable chance in the first team to see if they make the grade.

The youngsters at RFC try hard each week at Coburg and each week they see the seniors fail and they would have to think my time will come soon if I keep aplying myself but both Wallace and Frawley never gave the youngster's "their rightful turn" and they then become disenchanted.

Young Roach you would have to say was shafted by Wallace/RFC compared to the others who have consistantly underperformed and have never ever come under scrutiny.

But what really makes me laugh is that Wallce comes out with all these grandiose statements about changing the team, but the way he goes about it he just shuffles the deck chairs on the Titanic!

Neither Wallace or Frawley have or had a game plan, that is the problem. There is alot of criticism of the player group at the moment but I believe the problem lies with the quality of our coach.

Money bags has no idea how to coach in this modern day era!

BENNY HILL TEAM PLAN.

Heres some;

Chopping our youngsters off at the knees after they fail to become superstars after a handfull of games.
Leaving Talent to rott at coburg because Wallace doesnt get along with the players.

I saw a difference in probably 2006. We actually started to see the running game start to work for the club in some games.

Since then, we've regressed so far, so fast, I see no difference between Frawdley and Wallass.

I see no future for our club, I really don't. We're treading water, the young guys are being shown the comfort zone that the older players give them. We need to get rid of practically everyone over 26-27 at the club, and throw the kids to the wolves.

Miller must go, and Wallace needs to be on such a fine razor's edge, if he cannot turn it around by seasons end, I say he goes to.
