Starting next season if a club finishes with 16 points (four wins) or less in one year, a selection prior to round two of the national draft will be allocated and only after two or more years of 16 points or less will a selection prior to round one be granted.

This would see a club that finished on the bottom of the ladder with 16 points or less given picks 1, 17 and 18 in the first year and if it qualified for special assistance again the following year, picks 1, 2 and 18. The club would receive the first pick in the pre-season draft in both instances.

Excellent move in my view.

One of the better decisions they've made in years. The perception that teams were tanking(whether true or not) was blight on the game.
