Changes V Bombers

Turn it up - you dont make a decision on a bloke over THAT HArding mark.! That is 2nd time I have read that on here. It was a great kick to a forward's advantage, Cogs was out of position and HArding played it well. Absolutely nothing more in it than that - happens 20 times a game.

A lot of Cog's stuff yesterday was unobtrusive. Ithink I saw some signs of the old Cogs yesterday - in particular at te centre bounce after the scores were levelled in the last minute. That was the HOTTEST ball of the day, and he won it HARD. We went forward and he gave us a chance to win the game. Did you see that??? Or justHArding's mark, which blind Freddy could see?

Will grant the kicking penetration point, but this will improve and is improving. It was quite windy yesterday which didnt help him. HAs to be persevered with coming off no football. One more pre-season could see him break out again.
As for his speed, he looks faster than Hislop.

I disagree regarding the Harding contest but no problem - people see things differently. His kicking is the bigger problem and it wont improve greatly because it wasnt all that good to start with. Its no different to saying any other 25 year old's kicking will improve. Again, I've gor nothing but admiration for Mark but this is as good as it will get with him.

As for comparing him with Hislop in any way, there's little point. Hislop is a depth player at very best.

No worries Wayne. Coming off his knee ops and no footy, I think he may have 10-15% improvement in him next year barring further injuries. Anyway the new coach will make the call so this is hot air!

B: Moore (Polo) Silvestor Thurstfield
HB: Tambling McGuane Deledio
C: Cotchin Jackson Collins
HFF: Newman Riewoldt Tuck
FF: Nahas Vickery Morton

R: Graeme Cousins Foley (Thomson)

I: Polo (White) Edwards Hislop Post

Due to injury - swap Polo for Moore and Thomson for Foley and White to bench

Out- King (some good tackles but little left to decide on King I would have thought)
- Hislop (Good forward pressure and having a dip but poor kick, has had a good stint and need to make room)
- Rance (Still an improving player but needs to get some touch back and can make way for Moore)
- Polo (I think I have seen enough to know he will be a depth player at best)

In - Cotchin
- Cousins
- Moore
- Foley

Newman Silvester Thursfield
Moore McGuanne Edwards
Cotchin Tuck Deledio
Tambling Riewolt Cousins
Vickery Morton Nahas
Graham, Jackson, Foley
Int- Post, Coughlan, White, McMahon

Another possibility is for Polak to come in for Graham with his rucking form in the VFL. We also will need to give Brown a chance to state his case for next year in the coming weeks.

true he is behind those - but he has reason to be. Why persevere with a bloke for so long, then give him 12, 13, 14 games? HAs to be given another year, otherwise keeping him for so long is a joke.
So they will probably ditch him..
As David Rodan has proved, another year after long term injury!

All Rodan proved is that we might have gotten slightly more for him in a trade the next year. He remains very much a flawed player and the decision to trade him was right. Would anyone seriously have him in the team ahead of Tuck, Jackson, Cousins, Cotchin, Deledio, White, Foley or Collins (before we even begin to discuss whether each of them are good enough to take us forward)?

We just have to set our sights and expectations higher with our players in terms of skill and output. Of course its much harder when the player has had terrbile luck with injury and is a great man around the club but this is the only way we will improve our list.

Out:
Hislop (too slow and can't kick)
Cogs (too slow and lacks the physical pressure he used to have)
McMahon (played okay but he's not the future - surely he will be delisted)
King (played okay but he was playing on a 3rd gamer)

In:
Cotchin
Cousins
Bowden (deserves another chance to prove his worth)
Brown (deserves another chance to prove his worth)

Sorry but I cant bring myself to accept Bowden or Brown back in the side. What have we to gain?
We need to keep going forward and keep playing the kids to see what we actually do have. We know what we had in the group above.
Now we need to move on.
