And Hardwick on cue....(although he does use 'them' and 'they're')
Firing Tomahawk gives Rance the chance to dance with a worthy foe

The prospect of champion defender Alex Rance manning Geelong spearhead Tom Hawkins at the MCG tonight shapes as a throwback to the great battles of last century when prolific goal-kickers were the biggest names in the game.
But as intriguing as that battle may be, Richmond coach Damien Hardwick yesterday said it was far from certain the match-up would occur.
Hawkins became the first forward since North Melbourne’s Drew Petrie in 2012 to kick at least seven goals in consecutive weeks, in a pair of matchwinning performances against Melbourne and Brisbane.
As a result, he has closed to within five goals of Coleman Medal leader Ben Brown with four weeks to go and Hardwick is mindful of just how well the 30-year-old is performing.
“He’s in great form, isn’t he? He is that beacon down forward,” he said.
“I think he maybe kicked three the last time we played them. He’s such a good player, he only needs five or six kicks to damage a game. That’s what good players do.”
But just as Geelong face the toughest task in football tonight by tackling the record-breaking Tigers, who have won 18 matches in succession at the MCG, there is no more difficult prospect for a forward than being manned by Rance.
The 28-year-old is the current All Australian captain and has been named at full-back in the nominal representative time since 2014. St Kilda legend Nick Riewoldt said the key for Hawkins was to continue “really launching into the footy” as his teammates were kicking towards him.
But he also said Hawkins teammates needed to provide assistance opening space in attack for the spearhead to roam and ensure their kicking towards him was advantageous.
“The chemistry between himself, the timing of his leads and the chemistry up the field (is important),” Riewoldt said of Fox Footy’s AFL 360.
“Some of the kicks up the field from (Mitch) Duncan and (Joel) Selwood and (Patrick) Dangerfield have been unbelievable. But it is incumbent on his teammates to make sure this continues to happen, or they allow it to happen.
“He needs his teammates to play really smart football this week if he is to continue the same way he is going, because if you are dumb or lazy as forward against the Tigers, then they are so good at creating issues for your teammates.”
Rance tends to play closer to goal or in an intercepting role, which means that if Hawkins roams further afield, he will almost certainly be manned by David Astbury, while Dylan Grimes also has a key role to play.
And Geelong has options including Daniel Menzel or Dangerfield, should he be used forward, who are also capable of mesmerising football in attack.
“We’ve got to make sure we pay attention to Tom, but they’ve got some really capable players up in that forward part of the ground that can kick goals,” Hardwick said.
“So it won’t be focused purely on Tom. It will be a team-based approach for us.”
