Excellent post. Agree on everything, except Riewoldt for Tivendale... he'd make us too forward-heavy.

Great post Bidders! Bravo!

Considering Reiwoldt is a taller forward who should be dropped to make way for him? Cleve Hughes was dropped (I'd prefer younger players get longer stints than 2 weeks) and Morton replaced him. The only othr option I see is Reiwoldt over Morton. I'd personally prefer to see what Morton has to give at this stage as Reiwoldt is young and will get his chance.
pettifer brown. they have done nothing. why is it okay to drop a developing player hughes because hes had a quite one and not the blokes who are supposed to lead.

how can a forward line of the following players be to top heavy especially if they continue to play deledio forward.

hf- morton hughes riewoldt
ff brown richo deledio.

any excuse not to play our kids seems to be the mantra.

Players like Brown have credits in the bank, so they deserve it imo.

Pettifer on the other hand, he gets one more chance because he is in the leadership group and maybe TW doesnt want to embarress him. Give him one more game to see if he is fair dinkum!

Pettifers game against Carlton seemed ok to me, and last week, he struggled, as with most of the forwards.

Bit quick to be dropping him IMO, but I'm one of his biggest supporters.

Just last week Terry said he wouldn't give the supporters the same old same old and then he goes and selects Tivendale. Maybe if Tivendale puts in 2 or 3 BOG's for Coburg he'd deserve selection, but at the expense of a younger player after one good game I don't agree with. I'll be even unhappier if Tivendale denies White game time. All they've done is replace Hyde with Tivendale.

LMAO at big tough guy Terry Frawley with his threats to drop senior players. I'm sure the senior blokes were shaking in their boots.

Coming off a wooden spoon, worst team in the comp, proven senior failures yet he persists with these proven failures, hoping they miracuously figure out how to play football.

ZERO KIDS FROM THE PAST 3 NATIONAL DRAFTS.

What a joke we are. Are we ever gonna re-build and properly develop players.

If anyone missed it - we are coming off a wooden spoon, and we are supposed to be rebuilding yet we have no kids from the past 3 drafts in tomorrows line-up. Collingwood played in a prelim and they have a handfull.

Time to look for a new coach .

That all well and do Gus but what message are they sending Jack? How many Coburg BOGs does he have to pull to get a senior guernsey?

Agree that Jack should have been in Lambsfry. He has shown a bit. The others are recovering from injury and if they show the same sort of form they should be in too.

I must admit I was actually thinking Jack was on the bench when I post it.

Based on last weeks performance at the Burgers, Jack should have been ahead of Morton. Jack did more around the ground and in additoin to the 6 he gave away a couple as well. Morton had a great game too, but in my opinion Jack had the better day.

Morton up forward rather than Jack gives us more flexibility around the ground and enables us to release Deledio and Brown into the midfield and the back half to add some run, carry, skills and class to that area.

Playing Jack, Richo, Schulz and Polak in the team could leave us one dimensional in the forward line enabling Collingwood to run the ball out of defence too easily.

Riewoldt will get his chance shortly and another week at Coburg in a 15 year career won't hurt him.

Good points young T. You'd think Petts would need to show something this week or else he'll be making way for Jack next week. We certainly need some of our young guns showing the potential for 15 yr careers!

I just hope they have some fast cars to get the emergencies to Preston to line up against with the Burgers. Nothing worse than seeing some of our young guns sitting around idle.

im inclined to agree with you harry. ive been prepared to cut wallace some slack but if he cant play youngsters he should go asap.
one thing hasnt changed at richmond. and that is the inability to drop senior players after poor performances. they continue to play blokes that are clear duds and have shown themselves to be for yrs in front of kids. all in the hope of winning a game. the silly thing is they lose games anyway. every yr it is exactly the same the constant being long term underachievers getting games.
supporters are just as bad as the club or perhaps the club is a reflection of the majority of supporters they are prepared to sacrifice development in favour of winning a game with older duds instead of kids and winning games rarely happens.
the richmond roundabout around and around it goes stuck in a groove thats been 25yrs in the making and getting deeper.

Maybe because they don't wont the young players get infected. The infection can spread quickly and has a deadly effect on all that come into contact. There is no cure for the infected.

What a bunch of sooks and dummy spitters you lot are. "Terry didn't ring me and ask who I wanted so he's an idiot, a creep, a liar, deluded, whatever ... blah blah blah!"

How's this for a different perspective ...
Johnson - he's our captain, and was in our best three players in round one. Must play.
Morton - 7 goals last week against reigning VFL premier. So he's in.
Tivendale - stack of the ball last week and has been a regular. Somewhat debatable selection, but hardly a shock.
White - from all reports was BOG last week against reigning VFL premier. Hard, quick and an inside mid. He's in.

Raines - injured.
Polo - was brought in to play a defensive role and Simpson, Wells, Jones and co ran amok. Was apparently very loose for Coburg a couple of weeks ago too. Got a shot and didn't take it. Back to Coburg.
Hyde - brought in simply as a stopgap for Johnson.
Hughes - had zero impact. What is this rubbish about "if he kicked straight he'd have been our most damaging forward"?? He didn't kick straight! We all bemoan poor kicking in our team and now you want it endured from a bloke who touches the ball 5 times a game. Ridiculous. Back to Coburg.

The only thing I'd probably prefer would have been Riewoldt as a replacement for Hughes and not Tivendale. We'll see the wisdom of that on Sunday. But some of you lot are absolutely full of it and yourselves. Maybe you're right though - a bunch of keyboard clattering monkeys would know better than people who have had to stick their necks out make the decisions - mind you, appointed because of years of actually work in the AFL business, not years of spraying their laptop screens with thier own crap.
