Changes vs Sydney

howat should have played his last game for the rfc, jackson clearly not up to it, hyde and tivendale had their chances

raines should not be dropped, give him a different role for once and see what he's got maybe a bit of crash and bash in the middle

newman and bowden to get around the ball more often, casserley or connors to take over the sweeping duties in the backline because of their run etc

richo floating around ala the eagles game, hughes into the forward line next to schulz

krak should not come in, picking up possies in the mud at coburg is a hell of a lot different to gut running in the middle at afl level which he proves he is incapable of doing, tambling needs more time in the middle at coburg also

Hyde perhaps a little unlucky, but we have plenty of receivers in the team already.

Don't think hyde would be unlucky at all he had 9 clangers ! worst game i have ever seen from him!
Hyde was bloody awful on Sunday.

Lovely work.....hit the nail on the head everywhere there...Ive been harsh on Rainesy but i agree he should get a run up the ground...couldnt cut in in the middle against a rampaging cats outfit but that was a complete dibacle that night...Id give him another run - perhaps on a wing where he isnt under as much pressure and isnt isolated one out. Newman should be a man and go play on ball...would like to see him as a run with player...him and meyer (when available) should get those duties. Hughes to CHF with Schulz at FF and JR roaming the 50...RIcho coming off the bench and playing up the ground. Casserly, JON and Connors could come in and do the sweeping running HB role.

In: Connors, Casserly, Hughes, JON

Out: Howat, Tivendale, Jackson, Hyde

King Thursfield McGuane

Casserly Polak JON

J.Bowden Connors Raines

JR Hughes Edwards

Brown Schulz Pettifer

R. Pattison, Foley, Newman

I. Johnson, Richo, Simmonds, Tuck

..still need johnson and tuck to relieve the younger guys...Meyer is injured ATM and Jackson was horrible.

Hyde lacks awareness it stands out like the proverbial and ive said it for ages, he's slow and is always being caught with the footy.

Delist.

Don't think Richo (and I luv the big fella) can play with another leading forward, that's why Schulz and co get a bum deal.
The amount of dummy spits he did yesterday when a team mate tried to invade his space was amazing.
Browny even thought he needed to have a word with the big guy to say mate "calm down".

Teamwise, it's fairly on the coaching panels shoulders to get the forward structure right, and if that means Richo on a wing or similar, then perhaps Steamer, JR and the kids can have a decent go at it. I'd even try Richo as a ruck rover type, it's just his ground skills aren't the flashest.

Got to mould the young guys together as a solid core unit for the future, and as I said with Richo in that mix it just ain't gunna work.

Carn't bring Bling back after 1 game, and he didn't do that much. Try the Connors, Casserleys etc, but don't expect too much, mind you the expectations this season haven't been filled yet either. :(

I am beginning to wonder if any of my outs have a future at Richmond. I have now forgotten when any of them last played a half decent game? Ditto the coach.

In reality, there are question marks with your ins & outs.
Indeed there are Skills. The principle question is does Terry want to use the time available during the rest of the season, to give our Coburg youngsters who are showing a bit a chance or does he want to continue to play youngish players who have matured a little bit physically, but in reality have shown very little??????

There are enough cracks in our line-up. We dont need another Krak. He should never be given a chance again. How many opportunities does a guy want? How many kicks in the pants? Clearly he doesnt hurt enough when dumped otehwise he would be making the most of every chance in every game....not just those when he has been told.

Richo will always take the best defender. Play him on a wing to take the oppositions best defender totally out of our forward line. That means, Hughes, Schulz, and Jack can finally operate their own forward structure on the 3rd, 4th and 5th best defenders, becuase Pettifer will take the 2nd, if everyones gets the drift lol. Saying that IN: Hughes Connors OUT: Hyde Howat

FB: McGuane Thursfield King
HB: Connors Polak Newman
C: Richo Foley Pettifer
HF: Riewoldt Hughes Edwards
FF: Brown Schulz Tuck
R: Simmonds Jackson Bowden
INT: Raines Johnson Pattison Tivendale

EMER: Peterson Graham Casserly Tambling JON (slowly, slowly these guys come into the side)

Below is the team i suggested for Port, and i am afraid, i would have the same team again.
If there was a changes, Raines out for P Bowden, Hyde out for Tivendale.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

B Bowden Thursfield King
HB Raines Polak Newman
C Richo Edwards Meyer
HF Pettifer Hughes Reiwoldt
F Brown *smile* Krack
R Simmonds Foley Jackson
I Pattison Tuck Hyde Johnson

Main structral change would be to push Richo up onto the wings.
Although he is getting on, we know Richo will run until he cant run no more, but the main key, is he runs to space, he makes the play and would create a target that even our defenders cant miss seeing, which hopefully, would stop the heavy possession game we have in backline where turnovers really kill us.

By pushing Richo up onto wing, it would allow part of the 'new' forward structure that we had for a while against the Eagles with Hughes and Shultz as the main key. Having Nathan Brown down there would create some extra flair and another avenue for goal.

Pushing Jack to forward flanks, but on oppostie side to gound to Richo (to stop the two leading to same direction) would give us another tall option that could push to the wings opening up the forward line for shultz with Krak running off him.

Anyway, just a thought.

OUT - Hyde Howat Tivendale Jackson

IN - Conners Casserley Hughes Bowden P

King Polak McGuane
Raines Thursfield Casserley
Newman Bowden Edwards
Pettifer Richo Conners
Riewoldt Shulz Brown
Pattison Johnson Foley
Simmonds Tuck Hughes Bowden P

EMG Krakouer Graham Peterson

Biggest worry with Jackson is that he can't seem to find and win his own ball.
And when he does, he takes so long to decide what to do with it that he either coughs it up to the opposition or gets caught with it.

That piece of play where he marked it just inside 50 then coughed it up was horrendous, he just doesn't have footy smarts.

That's true, however, where were the seniors players? should instruct to kick for goal.

Is it true Sydney have the bye next week?

i hope not. i've got tickets to the game :o
likewise
same here. Oh well, an excuse to head up north & have a good night on the grog. It was good last year, (apart from the result) - went to a bar afterwards & bumped into Butch & Benny Gale. The PRE T-shirt got plenty of comments in the pub!

Agree.

Terry should have run with players who know how to kick the ball. He persists with Jackson, Johnson and Polo, all of whom have question marks over their kicking.

Newman should be used better did a couple of passes into the forwards on Sunday that were superb should be rotating through the middle of the ground with Johnson Tuck etc!!
