Channel 10 prefer Nascar over AFL?

Last night in Melbourne you could enjoy several hours of Nascar racing on Channel 10 in HD. The AFL (Coll v NM) on the other hand was being shown on the SD channel. Anyone else find this disappointing, especially given Ch 10s promotion of HD footy?

Not really. The networks payed the big bucks for broadcast rights, they have the right to make the commercial decisions on broadcasting.

I dont have HD so I was glad of that decision.

I think they have to organise their telecast guides, on one guide it said that the T20 cricket was going to be on at 7.30-9.30, on one guide it had from 10.30 til whatever and then when I checked it had Nascar.

I was able to watch the first innings of the T20 with Hussey making 100 off 49 (I think) it was great, then I piked and went to bed. I will have to check out the scores on the T20 website.

Oh, and the Twenty 20 on the HD site was in Standard Def... so it says on the C10 website... :

because of car racing i only get to watch 2 hours of the game today

It was a filler program because they screened the 20/20 live at 9:30 on the HD channel.
They ran the same game on the SD channel after the footy and the 5th quarter.

I prefer to watch in HD but it was still ok. I still think they could have advertised the change better though.

I noticed it and reckon its a bit rich considering their promotion of footy in HD as well.
