Channel 7 wrong football promos: AFL Game Day

Go away for the weekend as we are playing interstate. Need to check whether we are on free to air or pay TV. 7 Promo ad on Sunday morning AFL game Day says Collingwood v Carlton LIVE from MCG 2.00 pm followed by Port Adelaide v Richmond at 4.30 pm. Doesn't seem right, but big game 80,000 + at the G; maybe 7 goes live against the gate and we are on delayed telecast. Why else would 7 confidently advertise it?

Decisions made. NO RADIO. We will go out and not listen to any footy or radio. No SMS. Get back to the house, stoke the fire in advance and watch delayed telecast as fictitiously live. Get back at 4.25 and turn on telly. Half-time at the G.

We have been duped. Not only deprived of going to the pub to watch on paytel, but did not listen to radio coverage. You ba*tards 7!!!

Melbourne gets the Sydney/Adelaide ads. Never trust a 7 promo. Fair dinkum at 10.30 am they are advertising their afternoon football coverage. We are away. No paper. Content we don't have to go to the only place we're the game is broadcast. Weekend vandals. *ricks. I hate 7!!!!

I don't quite understand vern. If our game wasn't going to be on till 4.30 why didn't you watch live on paytel? I agree it's pretty ordinary showing a game in Melb ahead of a Vic team interstate but at maybe that's to do with the.

What would others do in that situation. I can't stand not knowing what's happening live so I'd listen on the radio. The rest of my family prefer to wait for the delayed telecast and one in particular isn't impressed with the way he can guess the way a game is going from my comments and expressions.

Logistics. Would have had to go to pub with 2 young kids which is fraught with other half issues. Better that they play and then watch later.

id rather watch it later, pretending it was 'live'. means i cant listen to any radio, or follow on the net as i watch, but id rather watch a game on telly than listen on the radio, and rather watch it from my couch than on a stool in a bar

In the late 90s I used to drive taxis around Sale. On Friday nights i would have the radio on and people coming home from the pub would ask me to turn it down because they were going home to watch it on delay. I sometimes would oblige them ( provided Richmond wasn't playing).

Yeah, actually heard that promo at the end of Gameday...you have to pay close attention as they say in the soft voice/fine print, "and for viewers in Adelaide" and then boom "port v The Tigers" at 4.30 pm. It is written on the screen but you have to pay close attention to see it.

Maybe check out when Fox is replaying it this week and go for a counter meal?
