Chat with Aaron Fiora on Wednesday 5th April at 5.00pm.

I hope this is on the right board... you can move it to Game for a Laugh if need be ;)

Have those hard hitting questions ready ???

Aaron never gave anything but his best for us, whether his best was good enough or not is debatable, and I wish him well. Sounds like sour grapes focussing so much attention on him.

Even though I dislike St Kilda I wish him well personally...enjoy that winning feeling Aazza. ;)

Fiora despite his ability must be at the crossroads.Hasn't done much at Saints.Could be delisted at the end of 2006.

I'd reckon it's something stronger than a "could". He's outta here.

You should have stopped after Aaron never gave us anything.

Probably right Hopper.Would a 3rd club take a risk with him?

If Aaron had nothing better to do with his time than read this forum this week he'd be having the last laugh. ;)

Like Mr Hilton, another high draft pick that will never be :-\

Aaron would have felt right at home amongst the witches hats wearing yellow and black jumpers on friday night.

Seriously, good luck to the kid. Probably far too much pressure on him being selected incorrectly at no 3.

he probably had a better game on thursday night than most of our boys friday night!

He didn't play!

helsy3 Hi Aaron, thanks for coming today. You've been a Saint for a year now, with a great start prior to your groin injury. What are your hopes for your second year at St Kilda?
Aaron Fiora I suppose to do the things I need to work on, such as being better and being more consistent and staying in the team for the entire year.

Kangas_Div Hey Aaron, how old were you when you decided you wanted to try and reach the AFL??
Aaron Fiora I was about 6 or 7 years old when it was a dream. It didn't come to light till I was 15 or 16.

saintbrat Hi Aaron, has the team made many changes from last week for this weeks game?
Aaron Fiora They went into selection this afternoon. So we will probably find out tomorrow at training.

LukeL26 Hey Aaron, do you have a strategy that earns you a spot in the best 22?
Aaron Fiora No strategy, but a few different goals. I've been working on goals with Robert Harvey on relaxing. I've been playing well the last few weeks in the reserves and hopefully I'll get a game this week.

saint66au Hi Aaron, do players really get that extra motivation playing against their old clubs, even if they left on the best of terms?
Aaron Fiora Yes, I suppose they do. Even on the best of terms it always plays on the back of your mind that they wanted to get rid of you. So you really want to prove them wrong.

Rowdy Hey Aaron, you were close to selection last round. Are you a chance to play Friday? We need your leg speed and kicking ability.
Aaron Fiora Yes, I've been consistent in the VFL and i'm a chance to play this week, but won't be sure till tommorow at training.

saintdooley Hi Aaron. It's great to be able to chat to you. I was just wondering who you looked up to the most when you were young?
Aaron Fiora Probably my parents, who were both good sportspeople and always encouraged me in all sports. It was football I always wanted to play and it won out.

saintbrat Hi Aaron, who within the team do you most admire- and who outside the team?
Aaron Fiora Within the team I admire Robert Harvey - a champion player and champion guy - I have been working with him on my goal setting. Outside the club, Wayne Campbell was terrific when I was at Richmond.

saint81 Hey Aaron, who was your favourite player growing up?
Aaron Fiora I barracked for Carlton, the main one was Stephen Silvagni.

GorgessSainter08 Hey Fizz, what impact has Craig Starcevich had on you personally?
Aaron Fiora He has been good at getting around to individual players and seeing how they are feeling. He is good at getting back to the basics of fitness work.

SaintRach Hi Aaron, who is the toughest opponent you've ever played against?
Aaron Fiora I would have to say in my first year I played against Paul Barnard from Essendon who was twice my size and into me a fair bit.

Laurr G'day Aaron, where is the position you most like to play ?
Aaron Fiora I'd have to say the wing is my preferred position. I've played there since I was young and feel I have a pretty good feel for the position.

LukeL26 Hi Aaron, what has been your most embarrassing moment at the club so far? Fallen victim to any of Milney or Bakes' pranks?
Aaron Fiora No, not yet - thankfully - so far so good.

harvs_the_legend Hey Aaron, was there any particular reason you chose the number 22?
Aaron Fiora Basically it was a number that was available and they gave it to me.

saint66au Hi Aaron, how much extra pressure is there being an "early" draft pick??
Aaron Fiora I think only the pressure you put on yourself - it's no difference once you get to an AFL club what number you were picked.

SaintRach Hey Aaron, how do you think Luke Ball will go as captain this year? And do you like the rotation policy?
Aaron Fiora He captained a few games last year and relished the role. That's why they gave it to him. The rotation policy provides a good exposure to a number of players in the role and benefits the leadership group.

SaintBoi Hi Aaron, what do you do in the morning of a match day?
Aaron Fiora I get up fairly late, make sure I eat the right things, watch a bit of TV and get ready for the game. Nothing too out of the ordinary.

harvs_the_legend Hey Aaron, do you have any rituals/routines you go through before the start of a game? Lucky underwear, touch the banner?
Aaron Fiora There is one. I'm always one of the last players to run out on the ground and I don't run through the banner.

saint66au Hi Aaron, could you see yourself replacing Aussie as a defensive sweeper, or do you prefer the midfield/wing??
Aaron Fiora I prefer the midfield wing, but if I need to do the sweeping job I would do it, but we have quite a few players that could step into Aussie's role.

GorgessSainter08 Hey Aaron, of all the new recruits, who do you feel has made the most progress?
Aaron Fiora Probably Sam Gilbert - young player from Queensland - he seems to be very keen and his form is great.

harvs_the_legend Hi Aaron, do you think Kosi and the Clarke's will play this week?
Aaron Fiora I don't think any of them will play, although X did play a half in the reserves last week.

Azza Hey Aaron, I look up at you as a great footballer and I was wondering if you could give me some tips on footy for my first season of footy.
Aaron Fiora I suppose just have a crack. It's the same thing as we get taught in the AFL. As long as the effort is there you can't play a bad game. If you love to tackle, love to chase, love to get a kick, that will hold you in good stead.

maysiemoo Hey Aaron, who is the smartest player down at the Club?
That would be Nick Dal Santo and Robert Harvey. You don't play 300 games without being a smart footballer.

Aaron Fiora Thanks everyone for the questions.

Aaron Fiora Go Saints!
