Chris Bond - Assistant coach?

Tigers of Old said:
Just reading today that several clubs are in the process of trying to secure Chris Bond as an assistant with Brisbane, Freo & the Dockers looking to aquire his services from the Bullies who have offered him a new two year deal.

Begs the question after our disastrous season why we are not looking to freshen up our coaching panel.
Hopefully the club gives him an interview.

I would love to have Bondy back at the Tigers.

we should give up. with freo and the dockers chasing him surely he will go west

anyway. if we were to secure an ex-tiger on the panel i'd much prefer knighter

We need to re-vitalize our coaching staff.
Wallace is obviously staying on but subject to existing contractual arrangements, I would be looking to keep King and McCrae and to offload Rawlings and Royal. To replace Royal I'd approach a young bloke who has just left Ess. To replace Rawlings any one of Bond, Cameron or Knights.

CHris Bond is one of the most astute people in footy - articulate, smart and hard working. From what I hear is very highly regarded. Could do a lot worse at RFC.

This is what I would like to see.
Coburg Coach - M Voss

Assistants:
C Bond
A Collins
C McCrae

Yeah it was mentioned in the Media recently that he may have already been offered and AFL assistant role, but didn't say where.
Fairly certain that we'd offer him an AFL assistant role but we've respected his wishes to remain part time so he can keep his role over summer with Cricket Victoria

Sign up Andy Collins as an Assistant first in my book.
Collins has already signed up with West Adelaide as the senior coach.

Do you know this for certain?

Yes, but nwonash stated that Collins had signed with West Adelaide. I thought this was still speculation.

Havent heard anyhitng over here in SA re this. I ahvent anyway.

People want to swap this coach with that coach. I really haven't heard anything bad about Royal and he came here with a solid reputation. Why can't we expand the coaching staff (in this period of brightening financial outlook) to take on another real assistant. Collins or Bond or many of those named undoubtedly would prove an asset to the club.

Please be advised that the West Adelaide Football Club has informed current senior
coach Wayne Weidemann that the club will not be offering him a new contract to coach
the club in season 2008.
The decision, made by the club s Board at its monthly Board Meeting, has been made
at this stage of the season to ensure that the club can begin the detailed process of
appointing a successor to Wayne for next season. This process will involve a subcommittee
with individuals from both within and external to the club. Details of this subcommittee
will be announced in the coming weeks.

When was that posted Bert, perhaps West Adelaide are going to run one of those faux detailed coaching process/appointments but already have Collins locked away.

I don't really understand how West Adelaide would be any sort of promotion for Collins.

Surely if he wants to be a senior coach eventually he'd be better off staying in Melbourne where theres 10 AFL clubs.

I watch the SAFL most weeks on T.v.The crowds seem smaller if anything than VFL and the standard a little poorer.

Weird.
