I can't help thinking that Chris Johnson from the Dee's would be a good pick for us in the PSD or a late pick in the ND if he lasts that long.

He had a good second half of the 2008 season and I still can't believe that Melbourne delisted him (apparently they couldn't afford him his contract demands). He could help us as a half back or a half forward.

What does everyone else think??

Cheap rumour mill says Carlton are heavily whispering in his ear.

what kind of player is chris johnson, i can only recall paul johnson from melbourne, i wish he was delisted his a good young ruckman

To me, the most interesting one delisted was young Faulks, ex-Calder Cannons, was released from Sydney.

I remember that many were keen on him as a project FB. He could be re-rookied.

Also saw Clint Benjamin was released by Carlton.

Benjamin reminded me very much of Oakley-Nicholls. JON was taken in 2005, Benjamin in 2006. Appears Carlton have shown less patience with Benjamin than we have with JON.

Also note Ryan Jackson delisted by Blues as well.

Weren't you big on Wade Mills as well phanto, who Brisbane just delisted?

Played mostly off half back, but the back half of 2008 got on ball time. Thought he was a big improver in 2008. No the worst, but we took Thomson and that should do for now.

Nice one DD, just who aren't these guys not talking to? They have plenty of room in their cap, geez it is amazing that they have not approached Superman and Batman also. :P :P

Yes, I thought highly of Wade Mills in the 2005 draft as a 3rd round pick behind Cleve Hughes, 1st round, and Bower, 2nd round. There were also a couple of others who I liked too, such as Douglas, at Adelaide, and Warnock, was at Freo, now Carlton.

As it is, Hughes is still continuing to develop on our list. Bower is now establishing himself as a regular for Carlton. Mills didn't last the distance because his kicking under pressure let him down too often.
Interesting to compare with JON, Hughes, then Casserly.

In the end 2005 was an ordinary draft year.
