Huge game today.

Brought some much needed leadership, hardness and ball winning ability to the side and who could forget that clutch goal he kicked.
should be ready to sign a 2 year deal.

Re: Chris Newman (Merged)

Watched him closely today and by goodness if he doesn't retire he has no shame. Looks absolutely lost out and just roams around with no direction. He has zero defensive capabilities and leg speed is a killer. He should not be taking a kids spot ie Madonna

Yep, mentioned it elsewhere. If it's good enough for the Jonathon Browns & Darren Glass of the worlds, it's good enough for Chris. Take the honourable path.

Re: Chris Newman (Merged)

Been a good and honest servant for the club but today was another sign that the game has passed him by. Football brain still there but has lost pace and can't get to the point of contact now.

Re: Chris Newman (Merged)

Love Chris Newman, an awesome humble servant..
But
Time to hang up the boots and pass the baton on to one of the kids
Should play a farewell game ASAP....time for a McDonough or Lennon to get half a dozen games under their belt

Le sigh. Another game wasted that could be invested.

Matty McD another week behind.

If a 20 year old with a heap of upside can produce the same results, play the kid.

Dimma is weak as water on tough calls.

Re: Chris Newman (Merged)

Unquestionably, Scoop. Donuts BOG in the twos. Never really deserved to be dropped. Bring him in or watch him walk out.

Problem is Newman and the coach can't see it.

Agree... Dimma needs a whisper in his ear ASAP, love him but time for McDonut

Re: Chris Newman (Merged)

Unbelievably he had 16 possessions which is probably a season high. Might even be a 2-3 year high.

Re: Chris Newman (Merged)

And he'll play next week which will mean one of the guys like Arnot or O'Hanlon will have to make way for Steve Morris and if anyone else returns. Not at all sure how serious Vlastuin's injury is. Hardwick will drop one or both of the new inclusions from yesterday, he very cleverly ensured that neither of them would be able to impress by making one the sub and subbing the other one in for him. Newman was useless yesterday as was Houli, but neither will be dropped. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they're dotting the i's and crossing the t's on Newman's 2015 contract as we speak. I wonder which player at the club will be made pay for that this time?

Re: Chris Newman (Merged)

Reckon he and Axel are being rewarded for service this year and allowed to reach their milestones (250 and 150 respectively). Axel has at least been respectable (and even good in a couple of games) Newy though is really struggling.

Ha, I called this move the other day on the Arnott thread and what happens? So predictable Dimma....
