But he is a dud?!

Added no value to the RFC in his last few years.

What would HFC know about choosing decent coaches?!

geeze, I was too scared to open the thread for fear that it had been reported he's going to play again next year!

this is a good thing for him - and maybe us in the long run

Agree, he had to experience life outside RFC. 2 years in a dev role, move into assistant role for 3-5 years and he will be ready to have a crack at a senior role. I reckon he should also look at a TAC Cup or VFL coaching role. Run his own team, develop his own thoughts and methodologies.

My thoughts exactly.

Tremendous opportunity for Newy. Given how many Clarko acolytes have become senior coaches, perfect club for him to go to in order to experience footy life beyond PR.

Says a lot for the great character of Chris Newman, good luck to him. Hoping he makes a good fist of coaching

Hope he serves a well rounded apprenticeship around the clubs and makes his eventual way back to Punt Road

Yes, congratulations, Chris, a commendable appointment to complement a dedicated, brave career with the Tigers. Spend a couple of years there learning all you can, maybe do some VFL coaching. Then back to us with all you've learnt. Lets hope you come back to a premiership-winning club by then, so you can be part of OUR three-peat!
