Clean Cut Tigers Lead By Example?

I can tolerate stupid behaviour, ie Driving without a license

I can see that Stupid behaviour is often caused by influences like alcohol.

But I cannot Tolerate any Man who Kicks a Woman.

I believed that Melbourne was a leading example of players being role models.
Geez interested you swept your captain's drunken infringement of a couple of seasons back under the carpet pretty conveniently ;).
Every club has the same problems and it'll continue for some time yet. Footballers are just a reflection of what's happening in broader society.

Exactly ToO and these guys are not perfect but unfortunately as they are in the spotlight they will continue to make headlines. Such indescretions will certainly go on and i only hope that the players down at Tigerland keep them to a absolute minimum.

But there is no excuse, and i mean none to condone abuse of women in our society by men.

Looks like the dees have got the first free kick of the year :hihi :hihi

I don't disagree with you TR...
I'm just not one to jump to conclusions before the facts are out - if they ever are.
A witness 'claims' Sylvia 'attempted' to kick a woman...
Perhaps it happened, perhaps it didn't - I'm not making the call...

Club fines Sylvia over court appearance

AAP
Melbourne fined midfielder Colin Sylvia $2000 after the AFL player had to make a court appearance.

The Demons released a media statement on Thursday saying Sylvia informed the club he went to court "following an incident with his girlfriend".

The club also revealed that alcohol was "a significant factor" and said Sylvia would undergo an alcohol awareness program, as well as counselling.

"Melbourne late this afternoon was made aware by one of our players Colin Sylvia that he attended the Melbourne Magistrates Court this morning following an incident with his girlfriend," the club said.

"Colin consented to an order without admission of any of the allegations contained in the application.

"The club is disappointed that Colin did not advise us of the matter and very disappointed that he has put the good name of himself and the club at risk.

"Colin accepts that alcohol was a significant factor and is deeply remorseful about his behaviour."

The statement added that the 20-year-old would risk suspension if there was a repeat of "alcohol-impacted behaviour".

"While Colin's girlfriend of two years did not want the court action to proceed, they accept the outcome and wish to get on with their private lives," the club said.

Thanks for that link GPB.
Interested, If they aren't facts, there is certainly an awful lot of circumstantial evidence.

You won't get a reply from Interested for a while, he's too busy reading the 90 odd replies from the the Colin Sylvia thread on Demonlogy.   :hihi

Some of those ferals are really sinking the boots into poor Colin. :rotfl

But what about a woman who kicks a Man? ;D

By the way thought I better add that I do not condone domestic violence in any way shape for form or whether it be from male or female, all I am saying is that there is no way anyone can dechpher what really happened from this from media reports. In fact I would say it is unfair for anyone to be commenting about it unless you were there.

The only good thing to come out of this is the fact that it is not the Tigers in the news for a change, but wouldn't go running off claiming we lead by example just yet.

Agree on the Violence of Woman against a Man, as much as that of a Man against a Woman. Acts against Children, and Emotional Harassment.

Updated.

I cannot Tolerate Physical Violence or Emotional Harrassment.

With what I'm about to write I really don't want to put the jinx on the club in any way, but a reverse trend against the club (in a good way of course) is starting to emerge.

Waking up this morning hearing that Colin Sylvia will be fined by his club for drunken abuse on his teenage girlfriend.

Shannon Grant has been fined by his club and faces on-going counselling after turning up to training under the influence of alcohol.

Just recently Beau Dowler was involved in an accident, by himself of course, colliding into a tree, totally irresponsible if you ask me.

Oh, and that Brodie Holland saga 'I totally forgot to update my WA licence to Victorian'.

I have probably missed out a few more players from other clubs that have gained media recognition or should I say have been on the wrong end of the law or misconduct by their club.

Is the RFC developing a clean cut culture at the club, I really think they are.  My guess is that the 'Schulz Incident' has really hit home, for the time being of course.

Has TW really stamped a 'father figure' influence on all the players?

Well, for the time being it's good to wake up in the morning listening about oppostion players stuffing up, but abusing the opposite sex under the influence of alcohol is a real no-no. >:(

Add this one to your arguement:
