it's good to see the lad has been in the gym and bulked up a bit. Some of the other young blokes need to do the same thing.

Do you expect all kids to be built like Arnie when they come into AFL football? Any young player takes time to develop physically. I hope your jab wasnt directed at any of them.
yes it was, to many puny arms and legs at punt road and its been that way for a while. I dont care that we have a mosquito fleet but players who are stick figures after years in the system sh!ts me too tears.

Hughes has only been in the system for a few years now and his body is far from fully developed. He may not be able to bulk up, players usually aim at 5-8 kgs over the pre-season when they are bulking up. The development coaches know they are doing, it only takes one good year to build up when your developed.

We saw Deledio, Tambling and Foley fill out this year.

Is there any player since terry came in that you are particularly disapointed in Clownie? JON? Cassa? Tambo? Lids?

They have to wait until 23/24 years of age before their bodies are seasoned. *smile* is close to that.

Cleaver and Sarge have magnet hands when it comes to marking.

Yeah pity Sarge couldnt kick today. He could have been a matchwinner. :-\

Yeah and it's usually his strength.

Thrilled to see Cleve do well.

There is life after Richo at the RFC. :)

yeah. Richo as roving monster and cleaver, shultz, JR sounds good.

Sounds good and we can only hope but he had one in the 2nd qr on the Olympic stand wing from 50 and he just wasn't able to kick with his normal power, managing only around 35 yds. Very unlike Richo. Did any one else wonder if he has hamstring problems?

Kicked 3 great goals today!!!
However looked lazy and doesnt work hard off the ball plenty of times he stood or walked around.
Very Lance Franklinesque I feel, kicked 3 flashy goals but besides that nothing, yes they will get him in the paper and build up the hype for the kid but I want to see 100% commitment and effort from him the last thing we want is another Pettifer.

Good game Cleve but much to improve on son.. GOOD START!!

Considering Lance Franklin kicked 6 goals today I certainly think there could be worse comparisons. Not a bad day at the office if that is the greatest negative that can be said about him.

at last, we have someone who can kick beyond 50 metres. Well done Cleve.

Good signs for our future forward line, I'm also impressed with Mr G Polack.

go tigers

Once small difference, Cleaver took a couple of good contested marks.

Mind you at 6 goals a game I'm sure the Hawks don't mind if Franklin never takes one.

haha notice that he said jack and not kingsley, i guess he sees the same thing we all do and kent is a hack

I think you're projecting your own prejudice onto the boy. Hughes won't have felt any pressure from Kingsley because Kingsley has been injured - it's pretty hard to push for a spot from the rehab group or the surgeon's table. I think Cleve would be aghast if you suggested to him that he thinks a team mate is "a hack" - he may even sit you on the seat of your pants.
