OK, I'm only in Japan, haven't ever seen a Coburg game, and know that Gary Lyon isn't exactly a pin-up boy in Richmond supporters' homes but...
I listened to the Doggies game over the net radio, and was struck by one of Lyon's post-game comments in answer to some Tiger supporter who rang in to complain about our lack of young talls. To wit- "My mail is Cleve Hughes doesn't work hard enough." He was referring to off-field as much as on-field. I don't remember Cleve exactly carving it up in the pre-season leaderboard.
Any thoughts on this guy's work ethic? Is he going to be another Pettifer who takes 4 years to wake to the requirements of AFL football? He does seem to be a mile away from first's selection, and McCrae's report on him was decidedly cool last week.
Shame, as I thought he looked very likely last year...
